Scrub Nurse

A Scrub Nurse is responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment, preparing instruments, and ensuring smooth conduct of operations. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes before surgery Ensure strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies Count surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before and after procedures Maintain proper handling and sterilization of surgical tools Monitor sterile field and prevent contamination Assist in positioning and draping the patient Handle specimens correctly and send them for lab analysis Coordinate with circulating nurse and OT team Maintain accurate records of procedures and instrument counts Ensure availability of all required surgical materials before procedure Follow hospital protocols, infection control policies, and safety guidelines

Qualifications & Requirements: B.Sc Nursing / GNM with valid nursing registration Certification or training in Operation Theatre techniques preferred 1 3 years of experience in OT / Surgical Unit

Skills Required: Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures Excellent hand-eye coordination Attention to detail and precision Ability to work under pressure in critical situations Good communication and teamwork skills Knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
