Contribution wage used

₹25,000

Employee EPF / month₹3,000
Employer EPS / month₹2,083
Employer EPF / month₹918
Employer 12% total / month₹3,000
Employee contribution / year₹36,000
Employer contribution / year₹36,000

This separates retirement contributions from take-home pay. EDLI, administrative charges, tax treatment, pension eligibility exceptions and establishment-specific rules are intentionally not silently folded into the headline result.

Why Jobiba shows the assumption

A PF number without its wage base can be misleading. This workspace separates actual Basic + DA from the contribution ceiling and lets you compare ceiling-limited versus full-wage contribution. That makes an offer or CTC comparison easier to audit.

EPF calculator FAQs

What changed in EPF on 16 September 2026?

The Union Cabinet approved raising the wage ceiling for mandatory EPF coverage from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per month. Payroll teams should still confirm the applicable effective date and implementing notification before changing a live payroll run.

Is PF calculated on gross salary?

EPF contributions are generally based on PF wages such as basic wages plus dearness allowance, not the entire gross salary. Your employer's payroll policy and applicable EPFO rules determine the actual contributory wage.

How is the employer contribution split?

The standard employer contribution is 12%. The EPS portion is generally 8.33% of the applicable pension wage and the balance goes to EPF. This calculator keeps the wage ceiling editable so you can model a payroll policy without hiding the assumption.

Planning estimate only. The ₹25,000 ceiling was approved by the Union Cabinet on 16 September 2026. Confirm the operative EPFO notification, effective date and your establishment's payroll treatment before compliance use.
