The Role We are seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer to join a newly-formed team focused on developing advanced Command and Control (C2) Software for Autonomous Systems for use in operational and tactical missions. This role involves building, integrating, and deploying state-of-the-art, full-stack solutions that combine sensors, effectors, UxVs, and intelligent decision-making systems to enable users to effectively execute and manage a variety of mission profiles that employ autonomous systems. You will work alongside other experts in sensing, artificial intelligence, and systems engineering to build and deliver solutions that redefine complex military and civilian mission scenarios in the real world.

The Role We are a software engineering team with expertise in enabling ML models in production. We deploy AI models to run in variety of environments: air-gapped government networks, forward-deployed defense environments, edge nodes, and enterprises with strict data sovereignty requirements. Our customers rely on us for frontier AI capabilities running on hardware they control, often with constrained GPU resources and limited direct access. Rising to that challenge and meeting those expectations is what Palantir's excels at. We treat models like any other software: continuously tested, continually delivered, packaged for reproducible deployment, and built for long-term maintainability. You will own services end-to-end, and work across the full stack, from inference engines, GPU scheduling to deployment pipelines, observability, and integration with Palantir's platform. We provide a complete ecosystem where customers can securely integrate and visualize their data, and build sophisticated, full-fledged programs such as common operating pictures, alert-triaging inboxes, and resource allocation planning tools driven by rich-ML models. This is a frontend engineering role focused on application development for our defense product offering, where you will be responsible for crafting the applications that organizations use every day to keep their countries safe. You may spend one day talking to users to better understand their needs and identifying product gaps to improve.
