How to evaluate salary and compensation

Salary can vary by location, experience, employer, skills, job type and work arrangement. Use these checks when comparing opportunities.

Check your market range first

Use Jobiba's Salary Intelligence to compare role and location percentiles, recent market movement, higher-paying roles and matching live jobs. For a quick comparison, open the salary calculator. Signed-in candidates can also use the private Career Salary Coach for profile-based salary position, skill demand and career-market suggestions.

Compare like with like

Check whether a number is annual, monthly, hourly or project-based. A salary amount without a period or currency can be misleading.

Consider the full offer

Base salary or wages
Variable pay, commissions or bonuses
Benefits and allowances
Work location, schedule and remote or hybrid arrangement
Role scope, growth path and required experience

Location matters

Compensation can differ substantially between cities and countries. Compare an offer with roles in the same market and at a similar experience level rather than relying on one headline number.

Listed salary vs Jobiba estimate

Employer-provided salary is shown as listed pay. When a job has no salary and Jobiba has enough comparable role-and-location evidence, search may show a clearly labeled Jobiba estimate. The estimate is market guidance, not a promise from that employer.
