India salary tax planning
Old vs New Tax Regime Calculator
The useful comparison is not “which regime is usually better?” It is “which regime is lower after the deductions I can actually claim?” Enter your gross salary and old-regime deductions to compare both sides with current salary-planning slabs.

How the comparison works
Same salary, different taxable income
The new regime uses its standard deduction and current slab structure. The old regime uses its standard deduction plus the eligible exemptions and deductions you enter.
Jobiba deliberately asks you to enter an eligible HRA exemption instead of guessing rent, metro status and salary components. If you do not know your exemption, leave it at zero until you can calculate it from real details.
The result is a salary-planning estimate. It does not model every income type, surcharge edge case, capital gain, employer adjustment or filing rule.
When not to rely on this alone
Complex income needs a proper tax calculation
If you have income above ₹50 lakh, business income, capital gains, foreign income, unusual deductions or surcharge implications, treat this as a quick salary comparison only. Use current Income Tax Department guidance or professional advice for the filing decision.
Use tax after you understand the offer structure
A tax-regime comparison starts from gross salary, while recruiters often quote CTC. If your offer includes employer PF, gratuity or a large variable component, first open the salary breakup or CTC-to-in-hand tool so you are comparing the right salary base.
