About the Team The Future of Computing Research team is an applied research team within OpenAI’s Consumer Devices group. We study how AI systems perceive people and their surroundings, and we turn that research into capabilities for future products. Our work spans machine learning, sensing, and hardware, with a focus on building systems that work beyond controlled environments. About the Role We’re looking for a machine learning engineer to help shape how future AI systems understand the physical world and the people in it. The role focuses on multimodal perception and authentication, bringing together signals from cameras, microphones, and other sensors. You’ll work with specialized perception models and larger multimodal models, and partner with hardware, firmware, software, and product teams to bring new research into real-world systems. This role is based in San Francisco. We work in the office three days per week and offer relocation assistance. In this role, you will: Research and develop multimodal perception and authentication methods across visual, audio, and other sensing signals. Explore how specialized perception models and larger multimodal models can work together. Design data, training, and evaluation approaches that improve performance in real-world conditions. Study model behavior, robustness, and failure modes across sensing, data, and deployment environments. Integrate and validate new capabilities in real-time or resource-constrained systems. Work with hardware, firmware, software, and product teams to turn research into working systems. You might thrive in this role if you: Have a strong background in computer vision, audio or speech machine learning, multimodal learning, or sensing. Have experience developing specialized machine learning models, larger multimodal models, or both. Have brought research ideas into practical systems, prototypes, or products. Know how to design experiments, build evaluations, and investigate model behavior. Have wo

About the Team Our Robotics team is focused on unlocking general-purpose robotics and advancing toward AGI-level intelligence in dynamic, real-world environments. Working across the full model and systems stack, we integrate cutting-edge hardware and software to explore a broad range of robotic form factors. We strive to seamlessly blend high-level AI capabilities with the physical constraints of real-world systems to improve people’s lives. About the Role We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to help develop the next generation of robotic systems at OpenAI. This role spans the full lifecycle of hardware development, from early concept exploration and prototyping through circuit design, component selection, PCB layout, bring-up, integration, and deployment. Engineers in this role are expected to independently drive significant hardware efforts from initial concept through deployment. You will translate ambiguous goals into concrete engineering plans, make key technical decisions, coordinate closely with cross-functional partners, and own execution through the iterations required to deliver a successful system. Many of the systems we build are still being defined. You will work closely with mechanical, firmware, software, controls, and research teams to evaluate new ideas, develop novel hardware, and integrate it into robotic platforms. Success in this role requires strong engineering judgment, comfort operating in ambiguous spaces, and the ability to balance rapid experimentation with the discipline required to build reliable and scalable systems. The ideal candidate enjoys building things from first principles and is equally comfortable evaluating a new technology, debugging a prototype on the bench, reviewing PCB layout details, and driving system integration efforts. You should be able to move quickly when appropriate, but also know when investing in robustness, simplicity, or infrastructure will create leverage for future development. This role is

Who We Are Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together . We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion. Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work. About The Role Imagine yourself in the 1970s or 80s thinking through how computing should look and feel for people who had never seen one before. That's what we're trying to do at Notion — make software that feels timeless, with the craftsmanship of German cameras, playfulness of Japanese toys, and mass appeal of Coca-Cola. We have no end of fascinating challenges that can only be solved by someone with innate product & UX sense, technical aptitude, great taste, and impeccable craft. This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days. What You'll Achieve: Design product concepts that balance vision, craft, speed, and business potential. Craft every detail of new product features, from idea to UX to pixel-perfect execution. Run projects end to end with engineers to drive your vision to the ship line. Partner closely with our Customer Experience, Sales, and Customer Success teams to understand
