A Day in the Life

The Field Service Engineer is the primary technical representative for Medtronic MIDAS Drills. The FSE is also responsible for the technical assessment, installation, support, servicing, maintenance, and de-installation of all MIDAS systems at customer sites. The FSE works closely with Sales Team Members and the customer to help coordinate on-site visits. The FSE also provides feedback to the Marketing, Quality, Production and Engineering groups to continually evaluate the performance of products in the field. This role is ideal for someone who is responsible, quick to learn, and flexible to travel for week-long assignments on short notice.

We are seeking a committed professional to join our team, required to reside within the Fort Worth area, and travel to multiple accounts throughout the nation. A valid driver's license is essential for this role, which also involves 75% amount of travel outside the Fort Worth area, presenting opportunities for broader engagement.

Additional Information:

  • Location: This individual will work on-site at the Medtronic Fort Worth facility when not at a service assignment

  • Territory: This position serves the continental United States

  • Travel: This position will require over 75% of travel including overnight travel.  

  • Equipment: This position will service the Midas MR-8 platform

 

 

A Day in the Life

  • Perform installations, inspections, verification, corrective and preventive maintenance to ensure the successful operation of MIDAS systems.

  • Maintain and submit technical records and documentation as per regulatory requirements.

  • Provide information from experiences in the field to colleagues in the office as well as updates to the database.

  • Provide input to service processes to ensure continuous improvement and evolution of the Field Service organization. This includes the development and maintenance of Service documentation and procedures.

  • Provide input to Engineering and Manufacturing for upgrades to MIDAS products.

  • Participate in the development and delivery of technical training to our distributors, partners, agents, and technically qualified representatives of customer base.

  • Help facilitate the smooth introduction of new products to customers by participating in design improvement discussions.

  • Investigate, analyze, and recognize trends in technical data as it relates to MIDAS products.

  • Participate in special projects as requested by the US Field Service Manager or designee.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in customer support, mechanical or electrical equipment repair

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and technically diagnose medical equipment.

  • Experience in teaching technical subject matter

  • Excellent time management skills and detail oriented

  • Flexibility to travel frequently.

  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated and without direct supervision.

  • Ability to work closely with customers, listen to their issues and then develop a plan to increase confidence and satisfaction with products and services.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$60,000.00 - $90,000.00

 

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
