As a Payments Risk Analyst I on the Payments Risk team, you'll serve as the first line of defense against payments fraud across Coinbase. This team reviews escalated accounts, identifies fraud patterns, and strengthens the controls that protect millions of customers from chargebacks, ACH abuse, wire disputes, and account takeovers. You'll own end-to-end fraud investigations, surface insights that sharpen our detection logic, and drive process improvements that reduce risk exposure at scale. What you'll do: Own detailed investigations of escalated customer accounts to identify and mitigate payments fraud risks, including chargebacks, ACH returns, wire disputes, and account takeovers. Analyze fraud trends and patterns in payment activities, delivering actionable insights to Payments Risk leadership that improve detection accuracy. Partner with the Payments Risk investigations team to provide feedback on rule performance and risk logic, strengthening our automated defenses. Drive process improvements by identifying workflow inefficiencies and recommending changes that reduce risk exposure and increase operational throughput.
