Senior Tooling Engineer About the Role The Senior Tooling Engineer is responsible for leading and optimizing tooling development from initial tooling design through mass production sustaining with ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers) and CMs (Contract Manufacturers). This role plays a critical part in ensuring that tooling design meets strict quality, throughput, and cost targets while driving Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) in close collaboration with internal Mechanical Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams. The ideal candidate possesses deep hands-on expertise in plastic injection molding, sheet metal stamping, die casting, hydroforming, and tooling fabrication processes, along with proven cross-functional communication and supplier management skills. Your Daily Impact at Peloton DFM & Engineering Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (ME, ID, Hardware, Quality) to conduct robust DFM/DFA reviews, guiding process selection, material selection, and tooling qualification plans. Tooling Design & Validation: Lead technical reviews for tooling designs, mold layouts, and drawings (including Moldflow simulation, gate placement, cooling, parting lines, and ejector pin layouts). Validate tooling designs with suppliers and toolmakers to proactively troubleshoot issues. NPI Execution: Drive tooling deliverables across all Hardware Product Development phases (Alpha, EVT, DVT, PVT) to support key NPI programs, ensuring timely OK2TOOL and OK2FAB approvals. Supplier & ODM/CM Management: Work closely with ODMs and CMs to manage tooling build progress, trial runs (T1/T2), root cause troubleshooting, and yield improvements on the manufacturing floor. Maintenance & Tooling Audits: Establish and maintain supplier-facing tooling maintenance standards and asset management procedures.
