About The Role As a Wireless Systems Software Engineer , you will help build the core software libraries and system infrastructure that power the next generation of wireless experiences at HP IQ. You will work across hardware, firmware, embedded software, operating systems, and product teams to integrate and optimize multiple wireless technologies, including Bluetooth, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), NFC , and future connectivity solutions. You will play a key role in designing scalable software architectures that bridge hardware and software, enabling seamless communication across embedded devices and host platforms. About The Role HP IQ's Connectivity team is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer with strong hands-on experience across RTOS and embedded Linux platforms. You'll bring up new hardware, develop and support firmware across core device subsystems, and help scale products from prototype to fleet deployment. A key part of this role is enabling on-device intelligence — bringing AI models, sensing algorithms, and local processing to lightweight, power-constrained devices at the edge. What You Might Do Design, develop, and debug firmware across RTOS and embedded Linux platforms. Lead hardware bring-up — board bring-up, driver integration, and firmware support through to production. Develop and maintain firmware for subsystems such as connectivity, power and other sensors. Integrate lightweight model inference and sensing/proximity algorithms within tight compute, memory, and power budgets. Support fleet-scale deployment: OTA updates, field diagnostics, and post-launch sustainment. About the Team The Spark Platform team owns and operates DoorDash's Apache Spark ecosystem — the execution runtime, remote shuffle service, cluster scheduler, and reliability tooling that powers the company's data, analytics, and ML workloads. We run Spark across the company at significant scale and continue to expand the workloads, capabilities, and consumer base we serve. Orchestrating and operating thousands of Spark cluster deployments is a complex distributed system problem which the team invests heavily in runtime optimization, systems architecture, multi-tenant scheduling, and end-user tooling. About the Role As a Senior Software Engineer on Spark Platform, you will set the technical direction for our in-house Spark deployment and shape the architecture that will run DoorDash's data, analytics, and ML compute for the next five years and beyond. You will own the deep, cross-cutting problems that span the runtime, the shuffle service, the scheduler, and the overall service reliability — making the architectural calls that compound across the platform's lifetime. You will partner with the Engineering Manager on technical roadmap, hiring, and team shape, and act as the senior technical voice in cross-team partnerships with Data Engineering, ML Platform, and product engineering teams that depend on the platform.
