Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way. The Community You Will Join: The Data Stewardship team is a group of passionate data practitioners with a diverse background in analytics, data modeling, governance, compliance, and scaled data quality. We are responsible for ensuring Airbnb is meeting its compliance obligations across our data ecosystem and ensuring data consumers are able to easily identify the best data for their needs. We support the pipelines, programs, and policy-bodies that make this possible. You’ll be part of the overall Data Infrastructure organization that is responsible for online and offline data infrastructure across the company, and the components that transition data between these environments. The Difference You Will Make Set the North Star: you will define the multi-year vision for Data Governance and Data Quality that scales with our global business and evolving AI landscape. Organizational Influence: Act as a primary consultant for executive leadership on data governance, ensuring that compliance and stewardship are integrated into the data product lifecycle from day one. A Typical Day Architect Ecosystems: Lead the design of overarching data architectures that don't just solve today’s batch needs but anticipate future real-time and AI-driven requirements. Scale Best Practices: Rather than just "ensuring quality," you will define the best practices, tooling, and culture that enable data organizations to maintain high-quality data autonomously. Policy Stewardship: Lead cross-functional task forces (Infosec, Legal, Privacy) to navigate complex regulatory landscapes (like GDPR or AI Act) and translate them int

At ClickUp, we're building the future of work: the first truly converged AI workspace unifying tasks, docs, chat, calendar, and enterprise search, all supercharged by context-driven AI. We are an AI-native company. Every team member is expected to leverage AI daily, and we evaluate AI fluency as part of our hiring process. Join us and help redefine what's possible. 🚀 We're looking for a Staff Data Engineer to own the architecture and technical vision of our data platform. This is a high-leverage, high-autonomy role where you'll set the technical bar for the team, drive cross-functional alignment on data infrastructure strategy, and solve our hardest engineering problems. You'll operate across AWS serverless technologies, Snowflake, dbt, and Terraform, but your impact goes well beyond any single tool: you'll shape how we think about reliability, scalability, cost, and developer experience at the platform level. This role is for someone who doesn't just build great systems, but makes the engineers around them better. The Role: Own the technical architecture of ClickUp's data platform, making design decisions that balance scalability, cost, reliability, and velocity. Define and drive the technical roadmap for data infrastructure in partnership with leadership. Design systems at scale : build frameworks, abstractions, and patterns that other engineers use daily. Lead complex, cross-team technical initiatives spanning data engineering, analytics engineering, data science, and data analytics. Drive cost optimization across cloud infrastructure and compute, turning efficiency into a competitive advantage. Build and evolve our data pipelines using AWS serverless (Lambda, Fargate, Step Functions, Kinesis, S3, DynamoDB, Aurora), Snowflake, and dbt. Establish and champion engineering standards : observability, testing, CI/CD, code review, and documentation practices. Design and maintain infrastructure for AI/ML workloads , including LLM frameworks, feature pipelines, training
About the Role: We're hiring Senior and Staff Data Platform Engineers to join the Data Infrastructure teams in Toronto. Together these teams own the infrastructure that processes billions of events per day: Spark-on-Kubernetes, Flink and Kinesis pipelines, a multi-petabyte Delta Lake, a large-scale MemoryDB feature store, Databricks multi-environment operations, and the catalog and lifecycle systems that govern it. The team is small and senior. Each engineer owns major platform components: you design it, build it, and support it in production. This is a hybrid-role based out of our Toronto office. You must be willing to travel to our Toronto office two days/week. What You'll Do: Spark-on-Kubernetes — EKS-based compute platform for Spark workloads: cluster configuration, Pod Identity IAM, job environment setup, Kustomize overlays, and shadow canary validation Event ingestion — Rust services and Flink jobs processing billions of events per day over Kinesis; throughput, reliability, on-call response, and AI-assisted operational tooling to reduce toil Platform infrastructure — Terraform modules for environment provisioning, cross-account AWS IAM, ARC runner infrastructure, and CI/CD for data platform changes Feature store and ML compute — Flink-based real-time feature pipelines feeding a large-scale MemoryDB cluster; GPU capacity governance and Databricks multi-environment operations for ML training workloads Workflow orchestration and CDC — Airflow-based DAG deployment, change data capture pipeline operations, and data quality monitoring Your Background: 3+ years building and operating production data platform infrastructure at the cluster or platform level, across Spark, Flink, Kinesis, Kubernetes, or equivalent Deep experience in at least one of: Spark-on-K8s cluster operations, Rust-based data or systems engineering, Kubernetes platform engineering and IaC, or data catalog and governance tooling Production AWS experience or equivalent: EKS, S3, Kinesis, and mu
