The Role Software Engineers at Palantir build software at scale to transform how organizations around the world use data. As a Defense Tech Software Engineer Intern, you’ll have an opportunity to grow more quickly than you ever envisioned, as you contribute high-quality code directly to Palantir's Gotham product. Palantir's defense product vertical builds mission-critical products for the modern warfighter, enabling them to securely integrate and visualize their data, perform rich analyses, and build sophisticated, full-fledged programs such as common operating pictures, alert-triaging inboxes, and resource allocation planning tools driven by rich-ML models. Our customers use our defense offering to drive core operations within their organizations - these programs are relied upon for daily operations in the command centers and battlefronts of militaries across the world. Palantir's Product Development organization is made up of small teams of Software Engineers, each focusing on a specific aspect of a product. For example, you might join a team that builds geospatial mapping tools for mission critical operations, or a component of the Gotham release infrastructure. We encourage communication and collaboration among teams to share context, skills, and experience, so you'll learn about many different aspects of each product. By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more. The Role We are a software engineering team with expertise in enabling ML models in production. We deploy AI models to run in variety of environments: air-gapped government networks, forward-deployed defense environments, edge nodes, and enterprises with strict data sovereignty requirements. Our customers rely on us for frontier AI capabilities running on hardware they control, often with constrained GPU resources and limited direct access. Rising to that challenge and meeting those expectations is what Palantir's excels at. We treat models like any other software: continuously tested, continually delivered, packaged for reproducible deployment, and built for long-term maintainability. You will own services end-to-end, and work across the full stack, from inference engines, GPU scheduling to deployment pipelines, observability, and integration with Palantir's platform. The goal is to deliver new models and capabilities quickly and continuously. Join us if you want to solve problems at the intersection of infrastructure and machine learning that directly enable critical customers.

A World-Changing Company Palantir builds the world’s leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more. The Role Palantir builds applications that help customers organize, understand, and make decisions based on their data. Because these applications serve different roles within an organization's workflow, users frequently have multiple applications open at once, and expect them to work together seamlessly. While backend services handle much of this coordination, delivering a truly fast and responsive experience requires applications to also directly interact with each other through client-side frameworks running in the browser. Building these frameworks is uniquely challenging: every Palantir application plays a distinct role and has its own set of first-class UX concepts, yet the frameworks need to integrate cleanly into all of them. Success requires both strong API design skills and a keen eye for user experience. The frontend frameworks our team builds serve a variety of functions across Palantir's application ecosystem. Some frameworks integrate deeply with the Palantir Ontology—a foundational layer that provides a schema for defining objects and relationships between them. These frameworks enable real-time data synchronization across applications: for example, when a user selects an Ontology object on a map, data plots in a different application instantly update to show that object's properties. Other frameworks operate independently of the Ontology: for example, one framework allows applications to define custom behaviors that can be invoked by other applications or even by AI agents, giving them the flexibility to expose arbitrary functionality across the platform. Core Responsibilities As a software engineer on this team, you'll work with these cross-ap
