Title and Summary

VP, Advertiser Sales Lead

VP, Commerce Media Advertiser Sales Lead, North America

ABOUT MASTERCARD SERVICES

Mastercard Services is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing cutting-edge solutions that help our customers achieve their objectives. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, our services include payments-focused consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, data-driven platforms, and cybersecurity solutions.

ABOUT THE CONSUMER ACQUISITION & ENGAGEMENT ORGANIZATION

Sitting within the Services umbrella, Mastercard Consumer Acquisition and Engagement solutions bring consumer and cardholder engagement to the next level. We deliver better outcomes through personalized, relevant experiences and rewards. Our suite of solutions provides businesses with a sophisticated infrastructure that integrates data and technology across the consumer journey.

This role focuses on Mastercard Commerce Media (MCM), our commerce media network and advertising solutions business. MCM combines Mastercard's differentiated commerce signals with a closed-loop measurement framework and media activation capabilities to help advertisers drive measurable performance and best-in-class returns. The VP, Commerce Media Advertiser Sales will focus exclusively on the demand side of the MCM business: activating brands, agencies, and advertiser partners across priority categories including retail, dining, travel, entertainment, and financial services.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Vice President of Commerce Media Advertiser Sales is a quota-carrying, revenue-producing leadership role responsible for building and scaling the advertiser-facing sales motion for MCM in North America. Reporting to the SVP, Commerce Media Sales, this leader will own demand-side revenue execution, pipeline development, advertiser acquisition, and expansion across Fortune 500 brands, agency holding companies, independent agencies, and relevant buying platforms.

This is a build role. The VP will translate the broader MCM commercial strategy into an advertiser sales operating plan, define priority verticals and target account lists, establish a disciplined sales process, and partner closely with Product, Marketing, Mastercard account teams, RevOps, and the publisher-side commercial team to bring differentiated commerce media solutions to market.

The ideal candidate has scaled advertiser revenue in retail media, commerce media, digital advertising, adtech, agency, or media platform environments. This leader brings strong credibility with senior brand and agency buyers, a deep understanding of performance media and measurement, and the operating rigor to build a high-performing sales motion in a fast-moving category.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Advertiser Sales Strategy & Revenue Ownership

Own the North American advertiser revenue target for MCM and deliver against quarterly and annual commitments.

Translate the overall MCM strategy into a demand-side sales plan across priority verticals, advertiser segments, agency relationships, and channel partners.

Define advertiser account prioritization, pipeline coverage requirements, sales plays, qualification standards, deal structures, and revenue expansion motions.

Build a repeatable advertiser acquisition and expansion model that connects MCM capabilities to measurable customer outcomes.

Brand, Agency & Demand-Side Relationship Leadership

Lead senior-level engagement with Fortune 500 advertisers, agency holding companies, independent agencies, trade desks, and other demand-side decision makers.

Develop executive relationships with CMOs, Chief Media Officers, Chief Digital Officers, Heads of Performance Marketing, agency investment leads, and commerce media leaders.

Drive direct and agency-led sales motions, including strategic account planning, joint business plans, RFP / brief response strategy, and annual partnership development.

Represent MCM externally as a credible commercial leader for advertisers seeking measurable performance, attribution, audience relevance, and commerce outcomes.

Ensure seller teams can clearly articulate the advertiser use cases for targeting, activation, measurement, optimization, and campaign performance reporting.

Sales Execution & Operating Rigor

Establish a disciplined advertiser sales operating cadence, including pipeline reviews, forecast management, deal inspection, win/loss analysis, and executive readouts.

Partner with RevOps to define dashboards, scorecards, pipeline hygiene standards, stage definitions, and forecast accuracy expectations to drive additional yield for the organization.

Drive cross-functional execution with Mastercard account teams, regional Services peers, Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Delivery to move opportunities from qualification to close.

Build, coach, and develop a high-performing advertiser sales team focused on revenue growth, customer relevance, accountability, and disciplined execution.

ALL ABOUT YOU

15+ years of commercial experience with a proven track record driving revenue in retail media, commerce media, digital advertising, adtech, agency, media platform, or performance marketing businesses.

Demonstrated success selling to Fortune 500 brands and agency holding companies, with direct experience managing senior advertiser and agency relationships.

Deep understanding of advertiser needs across performance media, retail media, commerce media, audience activation, measurement, attribution, incrementality, and return on ad spend.

Proven ability to build and scale a revenue-producing sales motion, including target account strategy, pipeline management, forecasting, deal strategy, negotiation, and customer expansion.

Strong personal network across brand, agency, and demand-side media communities in North America, with credibility to open doors at strategic accounts.

Experience hiring, managing, and developing high-performing sales talent in a distributed or matrixed environment; experience building a commercial function or new sales motion is a strong plus.

Ability to translate complex data, measurement, and media capabilities into simple, compelling commercial narratives for senior buyers.

Comfort operating in ambiguity, building structure where none exists, and moving with urgency while maintaining quality and control.

Strong executive presence and communication skills appropriate for representing Mastercard externally and engaging Mastercard senior leadership internally.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate across Product, Marketing, Account Management, RevOps, Legal, Finance, and regional teams to drive commercial outcomes.

Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
