As a HIG IE Engineer, your responsibilities encompass tactical execution and planning to support tactical pillar, CAPEX and OCAP budget management, material planning for wafer probe C1-C4 to Micron IQP, build Business Processes to enable wafer level activities. Also to work as a window for wafer PRIME, pWLR and DOE material acquisition, drive sample deliveries to execution for Wafer Reliability and IQP Reliability. You are also expected to understand procurement of items, inventory logistic management, audits, continual improvements, 6S housekeeping, and project management. It is a must for a HIG PSE IE Engineer to be familiar with Claude Code, AI apps and leveraging AI for work productivity and quality improvements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Able to utilize Claude Code and AI apps in regular work. Proven creation of Claude Code apps (Advantageous with more than one creation) Have clear knowledge of HBM wafer probe operations starting from Assembly to post C4. Have clear knowledge of wafer material acquisition from FE processes. Liaison with NPO, SIC, NPI teams from F15 and OMT. Have knowledge in MES/MAM attributes, tagging of lots from AAA, DAA and NAA lots. Familiar with CBG setting to ensure engineering wafers are not mixed with MFG wafers. As a SoC Design Engineer, you will be part of the Heterogeneous Integration Group (HIG), contributing to the design, development, and integration of next‑generation HBM SoC logic die. You will work closely with architecture, verification, physical design, firmware, and product teams to implement robust, high‑performance SoC solutions that meet ambitious power, performance, area, and schedule targets. You will also work to enable and integrate AI-driven tools and AI-enabled workflows into the team's methodologies. Key Responsibilities Design and implement RTL for SoC‑level blocks and subsystems used in HBM logic die. Integrate internal and third‑party IP (e.g., controllers, microcontrollers, NOC, RAS, MBIST, interfaces, adapters, buffers, PHY‑adjacent logic). Collaborate with SoC architects to translate architectural and micro‑architectural specifications into high‑quality RTL implementations. Participate in SoC‑level integration activities, including clocking, reset, power intent, and configuration infrastructure. Assist with pre‑silicon validation and post‑silicon bring‑up, including root‑cause analysis of silicon issues. Contribute to design documentation, block specifications, and design reviews. Collaborate multi-functionally with Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, and Manufacturing to ensure robust and manufacturable builds. About the Team Frontier Systems Foundations, part of Compute Foundations at OpenAI, builds the systems software foundation that turns new compute infrastructure into reliable, usable capacity for frontier model training. Our mission is to make some of the world's largest GPU clusters work reliably for frontier training. We bring new platforms and clusters online, safely maintain installed fleets, and partner with hardware, infrastructure, and research teams to resolve the system-level issues that keep jobs from running. That means building and maintaining the software closest to the machine: Linux and Ubuntu operating-system images, kernels and modules, drivers, packages and repositories, disks and boot configuration, firmware integration, provisioning, and system-level validation. We make these components reproducible, compatible, and safe to operate across heterogeneous fleets. About the Role We are looking for systems software engineers with deep Linux and host-systems experience to build, qualify, and maintain the operating-system foundation for OpenAI's frontier compute fleet. Relevant backgrounds include kernel and module development, Linux distribution or image engineering, package management, firmware and driver integration, disks and boot, and bare-metal provisioning. You'll work closely with hardware engineers, vendors, and infrastructure teams to bring up new platforms, integrate system components, and debug failures across firmware, disks, boot, operating systems, kernels, drivers, and workload interactions. Your work will directly influence how quickly new capacity becomes usable and how reliably large GPU fleets operate. You should be comfortable writing and maintaining production-quality systems software and automation, but we do not expect expertise across every layer.
