As a Principal Technical Consultant , you will assume architectural leadership for multi-application platform design, execution, and performance optimization. What You’ll Do Architect Platform Scalability: Build and maintain standards and tools to ensure high performance and resilience with a focus on reusability, schema optimization, data modeling , system performance, and responsive UX/UI . Engineered Integrations: Perform hands-on design, development, and code reviews using SQL views , stored procedures , and high-concurrency REST/SOAP web services/APIs . System-Level Troubleshooting: Rapidly isolate performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, resource contention, and latency spikes across the entire web application stack. About the role: As a Senior Software Engineer working on the Appian platform, your mission will be to ensure Appian is always fast, scalable and up to whatever tasks our customers configure it to do. You will be focused on designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems while providing technical leadership and mentorship and building a product capable of serving our customers in ways you never imagined. This role includes not just deep coding expertise, but also a focus on system orchestration, using AI Tools and AI integration (like RAG, agentic workflows, MCP), and aligning technical decisions with business strategy.
