About the Team The GTM Strategy & Growth team drives the growth and evolution of our B2B business across products, customer segments, and routes to market. We partner closely with Product, Sales, Success, Data Science, Finance, and Marketing to define and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches, commercialization models, customer growth initiatives, and market expansion opportunities. Our work sits at the intersection of product strategy, growth, and operations — shaping how we bring products to market, how we measure success, and how we scale adoption across customer segments. We operate across both strategic and highly operational domains, from defining long-term growth bets and commercial strategy to building launch plans, tracking performance, and driving cross-functional execution across the business. About the Role We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on individual contributor to join our GTM Strategy & Growth team and help shape how we grow and scale our B2B business across products, customer segments, and routes to market. This is a generalist role for someone who combines strong product intuition with thoughtful GTM strategy and can flex seamlessly between strategic thinking and operational execution. You’ll translate business priorities into clear growth strategies, operating plans, and cross-functional execution. Your work may span product launches, commercialization models, customer growth initiatives, market expansion, and the systems and processes that help the business scale. You should be highly analytical, comfortable working across a range of products and business problems, and experienced navigating complex cross-functional environments. Experience with technical or API-based products is valuable, but the most important qualities are strategic range, sound judgment, and the ability to turn customer, product, and market insights into practical recommendations and action. This role is based in San Francisco office, 4-5 times
About the Team The International Strategy & Operations team supports the growth and management of OpenAI’s business outside the United States. We work across products, markets, and functions to ensure our technology reaches and benefits users and customers around the world. Our team is responsible for being the glue between global and regional teams—bringing together market performance, local context, and cross-functional priorities to create a clear plan for winning in international markets. We advocate for the regional leaders closest to our users and customers, while giving company leadership the ground truth and structured recommendations needed to make the right decisions and tradeoffs. About the Role We are looking for a world-class, scrappy, and dynamic strategy and operations leader who spikes in analytical thinking, business judgment, executive communication, and operational execution. You will work closely with global leadership, regional general managers, and cross-functional partners to identify growth opportunities, build operating plans, and drive high-priority initiatives from conception through execution. You will be expected to operate at all altitudes—from translating complex market dynamics into clear recommendations for senior executives to working directly with product, growth, data science, and go-to-market teams to unblock execution. Success in this role requires the ability to bring structure to ambiguity, turn data into actionable insights, influence without authority, and drive meaningful business outcomes across a fast-moving and increasingly global organization. In this role, you will: Build the operating plan. Translate strategic priorities into clear goals, workstreams, owners, milestones, and decisions. Identify cross-functional dependencies early and ensure teams remain aligned on execution. Drive market growth initiatives. Work with product, growth, marketing, data science, and regional teams to identify and execute opportunities
About Us: AI needs a new infrastructure layer. We're building it at Modal. Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now. Our customers include category-defining companies like Lovable , Ramp , Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale. We recently raised a $355M Series C at a $4.65B valuation, led by General Catalyst and Redpoint Ventures. We've crossed $300M+ ARR and grown fivefold since September. Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g., Seaborn , Luig i ), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience. The Role: We're hiring a Compute Strategy and Operations lead to own how Modal plans for and acquires GPU and CPU capacity. You'll size our infrastructure needs ahead of demand, source supply across hyperscalers, neoclouds, and datacenter operators, and negotiate and close the contracts to secure it. The compute you secure directly determines what Modal can sell and build. In this role, you will: Own end-to-end procurement of GPU and CPU capacity across hyperscalers, neoclouds, and datacenter operators Build and maintain a strong pipeline of supplier relationships Evaluate supply options on price, availability, hardware specs, networking capabilities, and SLA terms Negotiate and close contracts: reserved capacity agreements, spot arrangements, MSAs, DPAs, and order forms Work closely with our engineering teams to translate technical requirements into procurement specs Track

Your work will ensure the right coverage, processes, and workflows are in place to improve pipeline generation, seller productivity, and the overall efficiency of our GTM motion.
