Junior Software Engineer Database Engineering Salary India in San Francisco

Location: San Francisco, CA (Remote/Hybrid Available) What is Verse? The race to AI has become the race to power. Every breakthrough in artificial intelligence depends on one thing: access to electricity. But across the country, aging grid infrastructure and years-long interconnection queues are slowing the deployment of the data centers that will power the next generation of innovation. Solving this challenge isn't just about energy—it's about unlocking the future of AI. At Verse, we're building the energy intelligence platform for the AI economy. Our software helps the world's largest energy consumers achieve faster, cheaper, and cleaner power by combining real-time control of energy assets with complete visibility into their energy portfolio. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, GV, Coatue, and NVIDIA, and built by pioneers in grid-scale batteries, energy markets, and enterprise software, we're redefining how the world's most ambitious organizations access and manage energy. The Role As a Software Engineer focused on Fleet Telemetry & Control at Verse, you will be working closely with our energy solutions partners to design, implement, and test distributed energy resource controls and telemetry software on customer hardware at sites around the world. You will be part of a dynamic, high-performance team building applications directly on bare-metal or on hardware-level virtualization platforms. As an advanced technical leader in network programming and state management development, engineering teams will look to you for best standards and practices for interfacing with on-premises grid assets using solutions you will build and maintain. Key Responsibilities Foster a culture and mindset of well-designed systems, test-driven software, and transparent communication with a high caliber of mutual respect and consideration for stakeholders Mentor and support career and junior level engineers in their fleet telemetry and control software career development

About the Team DoorDash Labs is an independent team within DoorDash. We explore robotics and automation to transform last-mile logistics in the long term. If you have a passion for applying robotics solutions in a service used by millions of people, then we want to talk to you! About the Role We're looking for an experienced technical operator to lead live testing, deployment, and operational validation of cutting-edge autonomous technologies. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and operations, helping ensure new capabilities are safely deployed, thoroughly evaluated, and translated into actionable engineering feedback. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Lead and oversee live testing across transport, deployment, and safety validation. Partner closely with hardware, software, and business operations teams to validate new product capabilities while providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Conduct and document complex tests for autonomous technologies, evaluating robot behavior, identifying issues, and validating new features and requirements. Provide actionable technical feedback to engineering teams based on test outcomes. Exercise technical judgment during live testing by evaluating robot behavior, assessing operational risk, distinguishing expected behavior from product defects, and determining when engineering escalation or additional validation is required. Develop and implement testing processes, protocols, and checklists that improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of new products. Utilize internal tools to analyze logs, investigate issues, document findings, and track issues through resolution. Mentor junior team members in structured debugging and documentation practices. Conduct detailed analyses and generate comprehensive reports that identify trends, summarize findings, and provide strategic recommendations to engineering and operations partners. We’re excited about you because… 2+ years of exper

About the Team The DoorDash Research Fellowship is a 3-month program (extendable to 6 months) looking for Summer and Fall 2026 cohorts, for researchers and engineers who want to work on the hardest applied ML and AI problems in local commerce. Fellows are given the resources, autonomy, and access to real-world operational data needed to pursue ambitious research directions — with the goal of producing work that influences both the field and how DoorDash operates at scale. This program is modeled on the best external research fellowships: fellows are treated as independent researchers, not as junior employees on a product team. You pick the problem (within a set of priority areas), you own the direction, and you publish or ship the outcome. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will receive… Dedicated compute allocation sized to the research agenda — GPU clusters for training and inference budgets for experimentation Full access to DoorDash's research infrastructure — our internal RL stack, training and evaluation pipelines, RL environments built on real operational systems, agent evaluation harnesses, and the tooling our own research teams use day-to-day. Fellows are first-class users, not sandboxed visitors. Access to DoorDash operational data — real-world datasets spanning logistics, merchant operations, consumer behavior, and marketplace dynamics, under appropriate data governance Research mentorship from senior researchers and engineering leaders at DoorDash, plus a named research sponsor for each fellow who meets with you weekly and is accountable for unblocking your work Speaker series featuring leading researchers and practitioners from academia and industry — faculty from top ML programs, research leads from frontier AI labs, and senior operators from across tech. Fellows get dedicated 1:1 time with speakers when possible. A cohort of fellows working alongside you — a small, tight-knit group of researchers tackling different problems but sharing
