Sigma is transforming how businesses allow customers to build apps, agents and dashboards on top of governed enterprise data. Hence, we are growing the design team and looking for designers who are excited to solve challenging problems, deliver impactful capabilities throughout our stack to build world-class technology. You will be part of a talented team of designers with a shared mission to make data easily accessible for all users. We're looking for a Senior Product Designer / Design Engineer who sits at the intersection of interaction design and AI engineering: someone who uses AI to ship faster, builds the skills and evals that make AI more effective, and invents new interaction paradigms for how people work alongside intelligent systems. This isn't a traditional design role. Yes you'll be using Figma, but also writing code with AI, training it, evaluating it, and questioning every assumption about what a "UI" can be when the interface itself reasons. Please note this is a 4 day on-site role in our San Francisco office. What You'll Do Start with AI, stay with AI. Use LLMs to clarify scope, draft specs, surface edge cases, and align your team before committing to a direction, use AI coding tools to build and iterate on the solution itself, and merge code to prod when fits. Prototype in code. Build working interfaces with Cursor and Claude Code, guiding structure, behavior, interaction, motion and UX quality while AI handles implementation. Partner directly with engineering to decide what moves into the product and what stays as a validated spike. Bring it to production. Fix small interaction and refinement issues directly on prod code. Design new AI interaction paradigms for conversational interfaces. Invent and validate novel patterns for how users converse with, direct, and trust AI systems - especially in data contexts where precision and confidence matter. Write evals, skills, and help on tools. Build the scaffolding that makes AI reliabl

About the Team The Spark Platform team owns and operates DoorDash's Apache Spark ecosystem — the execution runtime, remote shuffle service, cluster scheduler, and reliability tooling that powers the company's data, analytics, and ML workloads. We run Spark across the company at significant scale and continue to expand the workloads, capabilities, and consumer base we serve. Orchestrating and operating thousands of Spark cluster deployments is a complex distributed system problem which the team invests heavily in runtime optimization, systems architecture, multi-tenant scheduling, and end-user tooling. About the Role As a Software Engineer on Spark Platform, you will execute across the surfaces of our in-house Spark deployment that serves the entire company. The work spans Spark runtime upgrades and performance, multi-tenant scheduling and executor bin-packing on Kubernetes, cluster lifecycle automation, and the observability and incident automation that keep the platform sustainable. You will move between layers as the work demands — picking up the next high-leverage problem regardless of where it sits — and partner closely with the rest of the team and with platform consumers across the company. You must be located in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Seattle, or New York City for this hybrid position. You will report into the Engineering Manager on our Spark Platform team. You're excited about this opportunity because you will… Build and operate an in-house Spark platform that runs at company-wide scale, spanning runtime, scheduler, reliability, and user-facing tooling. Drive multi-tenant scheduling, executor bin-packing, and cost-aware placement that let a small team serve dozens of consumer teams. Own pieces of cluster lifecycle automation — provisioning, upgrades, capacity changes, and node-failure handling — at a scale where these stop being manual events. Build the observability and incident automation that make the platform debuggable end-to-end and keep on-call sus

You will operate as the technical authority for simulation: owning core architecture decisions, developing key components yourself, and setting engineering standards. You will build and mentor a small, high-caliber simulation team while remaining deeply involved in implementation and system design. This role is ideal for someone who has built simulation systems from first principles, understands simulator internals deeply, and is excited to create a world-class platform from scratch. About the Team Design Program Managers make DoorDash's Design Studio run better. As owner of the Logistics pillar within Design Operations, you're accountable for one of our most important operating outcomes: maximizing the bandwidth of the team. About the Role You'll find where ICs and managers lose time, fragmented workflows, manual processes, meeting overload, unclear rhythms, and you'll define and build the tools and systems that fix it. That might mean shipping a new internal tool, automating a recurring workflow, redesigning how scheduling or reviews work, or establishing a better operating cadence. You own the full loop: diagnose the problem, design the system, build the tool, measure whether it worked. You're excited about this opportunity because you will… Own the Logistics outcome, maximize the bandwidth of the team. ICs and managers have more usable time. Meeting load decreases. The team can focus on high-value work. Identify the biggest sources of operational drag across the Studio and turn them into a prioritized roadmap of tools and process fixes. Define and build the tools, automations, and workflows that reduce manual coordination, including for scheduling, budgets, vendor management, and event logistics. Redesign how the Studio operates: reviews, planning cadences, rhythms for both ICs and managers, information flows, whatever determines how fast teams can move. Measure whether your systems work, usable time for ICs and managers, meeting load, adoption, hours of manual work eliminated, and iterate. Turn recurring requests into scalable solutions. The second time a problem shows up, build the thing that stops a third. Own scheduling, budget, vendor, and logistics programs as a builder, not a permanent executor, your job is to make them need less manual effort every quarter. Partner with (and, as scope grows, help develop) other DPMs on the Logistics pod. We're excited about you because you have… 5+ years in operations, program management, or bu

The Homepage spans restaurants, grocery, and emerging verticals across iOS, Android, and Web. We’re rebuilding it around LLM-generated recommendations, shifting discovery from static, rules-based feeds to generative, intent-driven experiences that respond to real-time signals in the moment. You'll own a pod of 8-10 engineers with a critical charter inside that domain, real revenue attached to it, and close partnership with Product, Design, and Sales Strategy & Operations.
