The mission of The New York Times is to seek the truth and help people understand the world. That means independent journalism is at the heart of all we do as a company. It’s why we have a world-renowned newsroom that sends journalists to report on the ground from nearly 160 countries. But awards season is only part of the job. You will be expected to cover the news and controversies of pop culture throughout the year, deliver investigations and enterprise stories, and write features about the latest releases and how they impact audiences and society. Your work should drive conversations about Hollywood and entertainment both before and after a premiere. We are looking for someone who is well-sourced in Hollywood, has deep expertise about movie awards and understands both how Hollywood works and how its output can generate larger conversations and controversies.
