Engineering Manager - Databricks SQL Control Plane

RDQ126R35 At Databricks, observability and governance are what turn a massive, multi-tenant data and AI platform into one customers can trust at scale. We are looking for a senior technical leader to drive strategy and execution across three closely related teams at the heart of that mission: Query Observability, SQL Warehouse Management, and Account-Level Observability and Governance. Query Observability builds the performance and observability tooling, ingesting very large volumes of query telemetry and turning it into history views, execution plans, performance insights, and recommendations that help customers run workloads reliably at scale. Beyond query observability, you will be responsible for building observability and actionable insights at compute level, workspace level, and account level so that admins can confidently manage large accounts. This is a new technical leadership role responsible for setting the durable architecture across all these surfaces, raising the engineering bar of the combined team, and shaping the next generation of agentic experiences that let users — and the systems they run on — investigate, diagnose, and act on insights across query, warehouse, workspace, and account levels. The Impact You Will Have Establish the long-term technical direction across query observability, warehouse management, and account-level governance, and own the multi-year architecture all three surfaces are built on. Design and lead high-impact projects that move the needle on performance, reliability, and cost transparency for customers. Build the next generation of agentic observability and governance — extensible experiences that let users and automated agents investigate, diagnose, and act on telemetry across query, warehouse, and account. Partner deeply with Databricks SQL, Unity Catalog, AI, security, and platform teams to integrate end-to-end visibility and governance across the data plane and control plane. Mentor senior engineers, set the technical

And we're only getting started. The Role As the enterprise software landscape shifts from standard software-as-a-service to autonomous intelligence, Databricks is leading the charge by fundamentally transforming how an AI company runs itself. We are seeking a Sr. Staff Technical Program Manager (L7) to lead a high-impact internal incubator within our Corporate Engineering organization. Operating as a strategic, hands-on technical leader and a manager of a lean team of 3 to 4 TPMs , you will bridge the gap between internal infrastructure and cutting-edge product engineering. Your primary mission is to build Databricks' first-party agentic application platform designed to architect, deploy, and scale internal AI tools and autonomous digital agents. By driving this mission, you will eliminate corporate reliance on third-party vendors and vendor software, replacing legacy SaaS with native, highly scalable solutions built directly on top of the Databricks platform. GAQ327R297 Databricks is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our team. You will report to the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting and play a hands-on role in the full accounting close cycle for revenue recognition — from executing on non-standard contract terms identified by Revenue Assurance, to performing UATs on new system logic, to preparing financial reporting deliverables for internal and external stakeholders. Our revenue accounting environment is evolving rapidly — new SKUs, new go-to-market motions, shifting policy requirements and system migrations are the norm. We need someone who thrives in ambiguity, adapts when priorities shift and sees change as an opportunity. Our ideal candidate has a builder's mindset: someone who digs into the details, questions why things are done a certain way and proactively identifies opportunities to automate, streamline and scale. The impact you will have: Own the close, end to end. Perform monthly close activities including usage review, journal entry preparation, flux analyses, account reconciliations and analytics — and continuously look for ways to compress the timeline. Apply ASC 606 with precision and judgment. Ensure proper application of ASC 606 to customer contracts, including assessing non-standard terms, documenting accounting conclusions and navigating evolving policy interpretations as our product portfolio grows. Dig into the details. Pull, validate and troubleshoot data yourself — contract details, system outputs and data discrepancies. You are not waiting for someone to hand you a clean dataset. Automate relentlessly. Identify manual, repetitive processes and take ownership of building or championing automation — whether that means writing SQL queries, building scripts, designing workflow improvements or partnering with engineering to implement systematic fixes. Leverage AI to work smarter. Use AI tools and large language models (LLMs) to accelerate routine tasks — drafting memos, analyzing large
