Engineering Manager, Rosalind Workbench

About the Team Life sciences is one of the clearest areas where advances in intelligence can meaningfully benefit the world at large. The OpenAI Life Sciences team works at the intersection of advancing frontier life sciences model capabilities and building products to help scientists accelerate their research and leverage the full potential of AI for scientific work. Rosalind Workbench brings together the scientific tools, data sources, interactive biology file viewers and core life sciences workflows into a central environment to help scientists investigate questions, design experiments, analyze results, and advance discovery. Rosalind Workbench can be used with any OpenAI model, including GPT-Rosalind--our dedicated life sciences model, which combines frontier reasoning with specialized tool orchestration across medicinal chemistry, genomics, wet-lab assistance, and other scientific applications. Our long term vision is for teams of agents to work together across these domains, giving researchers access to broader expertise and the ability to pursue more ambitious scientific questions. About the Role We’re looking for a Product Manager to shape Rosalind Workbench for life sciences. You will own product strategy and execution, working directly with researchers in academic labs, biotech, and pharma to understand where AI can meaningfully improve their work. You’ll partner with engineering, research, design, and customer-facing teams to turn emerging capabilities into intuitive products that scientists return to. This role calls for strong product judgment, depth in life sciences, and the ability to move from an ambiguous research problem to a focused, shippable experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to define the future of AI guided scientific discovery and build the capabilities and tools that help advance the scientific frontier for researchers and help increase the accessibility of model intelligence for scientific use. This is a chance to shape

About the Team Identity is the foundation of trust in an AI-powered world. As people build a rich personal and organizational context in ChatGPT, they need systems that protect it, remember it, and let them share it securely across apps and agents. Without strong identity, context stays locked away or exposed. With it, AI becomes safe, personal, and truly useful, empowering users while keeping control firmly in their hands. Our team builds the trusted OpenAI account layer that connects people, enterprises, developers, and agents to OpenAI apps and the broader AI ecosystem. Our systems are the front door to OpenAI—held to an exceptionally high bar for availability, security, and latency—and are depended on by many internal teams. About the Role As an Engineering Manager, Identity Platform you will lead a team owning foundational identity services that must be highly reliable, secure, and fast under extreme load. You’ll set direction, grow and support the team, and partner closely across engineering and security to strengthen the platform that enables trusted access to OpenAI products. In this role, you will: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing engineering team. Coach and mentor engineers and senior technical leads to increase their impact and support their growth. Define and own the technical strategy, roadmap, and execution for OpenAI’s core identity systems. Guide the architecture of distributed systems operating at massive scale, with high requirements for reliability, privacy, and performance. Partner closely with Product and Infrastructure teams to support new product needs and uphold high system standards. Ensure the team operates effectively, maintains strong engineering rigor, and consistently delivers against ambitious goals. Establish processes and a culture that enable fast learning, high trust, and responsible innovation. Lead the team responsible for the authentication stack and token exchange infrastructure, ensuring high availability, strong sec

About Decagon Decagon is the leading conversational AI platform empowering every brand to deliver concierge customer experiences. Our technology enables industry-defining enterprises like Avis Budget Group, Block’s Cash App and Square, Chime, Oura Health, and Hunter Douglas to deploy AI agents that power personalized, deeply satisfying interactions across voice, chat, email, SMS, and every other channel. We’re building a future where customer experiences are being redefined from support tickets and hold music to faster resolutions, richer conversations, and deeper relationships. We’re proud to be backed by world-class investors who share that vision, including a16z, Accel, Bain Capital Ventures, Coatue, and Index Ventures, along with many others. We’re an in-office company, driven by a shared commitment to excellence and velocity. Our values — Just Get It Done, Invent What Customers Want, Winner’s Mindset, and The Polymath Principle — shape how we work and grow as a team. About the Team The Agent Orchestration team builds the runtime and model orchestration layer that powers Decagon’s agents in production. This is the orchestration layer that turns workflows, tools and guardrails into a reliable, low-latency, and delightful experience for end users. At the core of this work is the agent harness: the routing, execution logic, tool orchestration, and control-plane systems that determine how an agent behaves in a live conversation. The team owns the full execution lifecycle of each conversation—from selecting workflows and orchestrating multiple models (e.g., router/planner/supervisor patterns), to coordinating tool calls, enforcing safety constraints, and communicating back to the user. The team operates across both real-time systems (e.g., voice interactions with strict latency requirements) and longer-horizon execution (supporting more complex reasoning and workflows). Our research shows that an agent’s task execution reliability increasingly depends on the orchestr
