Head of Frontier AI

Scale AI sits at the intersection of frontier AI, enterprise software, and national security. We safeguard high-value assets: proprietary AI data and infrastructure, a global contributor ecosystem, and sensitive enterprise and government customer data. As our International Head of Security, you will own and unify Scale’s security strategy across our non-US affairs: Global Public Sector and non-US Enterprise deals. You will drive the execution, customer engagements and compliance with frameworks such as GDPR, ISO27001, UK Cyber Essentials Plus, the EU AI Act, NIS2 and country-specific sovereignty requirements while staying tightly aligned to our global secure-by-default architecture set by the Head of Security. As we expand into FDE-led Agentic Applications while continuing to serve our data and model customers, our security surface area spans internal systems, external products, distributed contributors, and high-assurance government environments. You are a builder who believes security is a product feature, not a hurdle — and who can raise both our defensive maturity and our ambition in frontier AI security. What You'll Do Execute the Global Security Strategy Across International Markets Drive execution of Scale's multi-year secure-by-default roadmap across non-US markets, surfacing regional needs into global architecture decisions. Translate regional regulatory requirements (GDPR, ISO 27001/27017/27018, SOC 2, UK Cyber Essentials Plus, EU AI Act, NIS2, and country-specific data residency / sovereign-cloud rules) into concrete engineering controls. Track regional security metrics and accountability, and represent the international perspective in global prioritisation, audits, and roadmap reviews. About the role We are hiring a National Security Partnerships Lead to grow and manage our relationships with the U.S. Intelligence Community and with allied intelligence and security services. You will report to the Head of National Security Policy and advise company leadership on intelligence and allied-partner matters. You will help partner security organizations build policies that let them adopt frontier AI quickly and for high-impact missions, while deploying it safely and avoiding incidents. You will also engage U.S. and foreign government officials on the policy frameworks that guide the international distribution and deployment of Anthropic's models. You will own a portfolio of government partnerships end to end: setting the agenda with senior counterparts, structuring the agreements and channels that govern each relationship, and bringing partner requirements and concerns back into Anthropic's policy, product, research, and safeguards decisions. You will work closely with our public sector sales, legal, security, and threat intelligence teams. Key responsibilities Lead Anthropic's strategic engagement with U.S. Intelligence Community elements and allied intelligence and security services. Help partner security organizations develop the policies and governance that enable rapid, high-impact adoption of frontier AI and safe deployments that avoid incidents. We help leaders identify, understand, and manage the risks that matter most while enabling responsible innovation and durable growth. We are developing a modern enterprise risk management (ERM) program and the technology foundation that powers it. Our work connects risk strategy, governance, compliance, and assurance with high-quality data, automated workflows, continuous monitoring, and AI-enabled analysis. We partner across Finance, Security, Legal, Engineering, Product, People, Operations, and Internal Audit, and provide clear reporting to senior leadership and the Board. We aim to make risk ownership practical, decision-useful, and embedded in how OpenAI builds and scales. About the Role As the Head of Enterprise Risk Management, you will help build and lead an integrated ERM program and the ERM platform that supports it. You will establish common risk language, governance, and decision processes while translating them into scalable systems, data products, and workflows. You will own enterprise risk assessments, maintain a centralized risk register, develop risk appetite and key risk indicators, and help leaders evaluate significant changes such as new products, markets, partnerships, major systems, and strategic investments. This is a hands-on leadership role at the intersection of risk, operations, and technology. You will work with technical and business teams to connect source systems, improve data quality, automate evidence and control monitoring, and use AI to surface emerging risks and accelerate analysis.
