The project focuses on leveraging data analytics, digital tools, and Artificial Intelligence to enhance failure analysis efficiency, improve knowledge management, and accelerate engineering decision-making. The intern will learn how Electrical Failure Analysis and Physical Failure Analysis techniques are used to identify the root causes of product and process issues across memory technologies in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Objective of the Project Develop a digital or AI-Enabled solution that improves failure analysis workflow efficiency. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to semiconductor manufacturing, equipment engineering, data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled engineering workflows while working on real-world manufacturing challenges. Project Title Mechanical Hot-Plug Automation Solution for Solid-State Drive Validation Project Description Solid-state drive hot-plug capability enables a storage device to be connected to or disconnected from an operating server system. Evaluating this capability is an important part of understanding solid-state drive reliability and system behavior. This engineering internship project is intended to provide the intern with practical exposure to solid-state drive technology, server hardware, mechanical design, microcontroller integration, and test automation. The intern will develop and evaluate a mechanical automation solution that can perform controlled and repeatable hot-plug actions for multiple devices under test within an enterprise server environment. Through a structured project plan and technical guidance from engineers, the intern will apply engineering principles to progress from requirements definition and concept development to prototype integration, verification, and technical documentation. Under engineer guidance, the intern will analyze equipment alarm logs, investigate downtime patterns, and develop data-driven solutions to improve machine availability and Parts per Jam performance. Objective of the Project Develop a structured alarm database for selected equipment, burn-in boards, and sockets. Apply predictive analytics to identify conditions linked to downtime or reduced performance. Develop automated notification and visualization workflows. Evaluate Agentic AI applications for equipment monitoring and alarm analysis. Under appropriate guidance, the intern will develop analytical tools, models, and visualizations to study manufacturing data, identify product recovery opportunities, and improve test-flow efficiency. The project will provide practical exposure to data engineering, statistical analysis, machine learning, prompt engineering, and the responsible application of enterprise AI tools. Location 990 Bendemeer Road, Singapore 339942 Department Storage Technology and Products Group Product Engineering, System and Solid-State Drive Project Title Product Yield, Test Coverage, and Failure Analysis Improvement Project Description Micron’s Product Engineering organization develops and qualifies memory and storage products that meet high standards of quality, performance, and reliability. The intern will undertake a structured engineering project involving NAND Flash, high-speed memory products, and solid-state drives. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, the intern will gain exposure to product development, qualification, manufacturing ramp, testing, product characterization, yield analysis, and electrical failure analysis. The intern will collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders on an assigned product engineering challenge. The project may also include the development of an AI-Enabled analytical or automation solution to improve selected engineering workflows. Objective of the Project Develop an understanding of NAND Flash, high-speed memory, and solid-state drive product engineering. Evaluate test coverage and engineering data to identify yield, quali
