Role Overview The Assistant Manager – Global AP & Financial Accounting (India) will own the end-to-end accounts payable function across all of OpenFX's group entities, while maintaining accurate books for the India entity. This is a hands-on role responsible for running a high-volume, multi-entity, multi-currency AP cycle, keeping vendor payments accurate and on time, and ensuring the financial records are clean and audit-ready. Based in Bangalore and reporting to the Finance Lead, India, this individual will partner closely with the global finance team and local consultants across jurisdictions to ensure alignment with group-level controls, reporting standards, and payment timelines. Key Responsibilities: Global Accounts Payable Own the end-to-end accounts payable cycle across all group entities: receive, verify, code, and process vendor invoices and expense claims accurately and on time. Manage AP in multiple currencies and across jurisdictions, ensuring correct entity attribution, FX treatment, and adherence to local payment norms. Match invoices to purchase orders and approvals, resolve discrepancies, and ensure appropriate authorisation before payment under the group approval matrix. Prepare and execute domestic and cross-border vendor payment runs across multiple banking platforms, ensuring correct beneficiary details, amounts, and timing. Payments owns the money path itself: the corridors we move money through, the regulated obligations that come with holding licenses in the EU, and the product surface — API and GUI — through which institutions initiate, track, and reconcile payments. This is where growth and regulation collide. The business needs new corridors — EUR, MXN, COP, AED, and more — opened fast, each with its own rails, partners, cut-offs, FX mechanics, and settlement quirks. Our EU licenses come with obligations that must be engineered, not just documented: safeguarding of customer funds, transaction monitoring, and evidence that both work continuously. And customers expect a payments product that keeps getting better — more visibility, more control, fewer surprises — across both the API and the dashboard. Key Responsibilities This is a new pod. You will stand it up, define its charter, and own three things end to end: 1. Corridor expansion Own the playbook for launching new payment corridors — EUR, MXN, COP, AED and beyond — from partner integration through pilot to general availability. Data Engineering owns the pipelines that carry that activity from our trading, banking and settlement systems, and from every bank and liquidity provider we work with, into the lakehouse: ingestion in batch and in real time, the bronze, silver and gold layers that turn raw events into canonical datasets, the orchestration that keeps them fresh, and the quality, governance and cost controls around them. Key Responsibilities Lead and support the Data Engineering pod. You are accountable for the roadmap, the engineering standards and the data platform. You create the conditions in which the team can deliver them. Own ingestion. Bring every source into the lakehouse reliably, whether by batch, streaming or change data capture, from production databases and event streams to the files and APIs of our banking and liquidity partners. Own the lakehouse and its layers: raw data preserved in bronze, cleaned and conformed data in silver, and gold datasets that are modelled, documented and safe to build on. Set the standards for how data moves between them and who owns each layer. Application Platform owns the layer every other team builds on: the API gateway, authentication and session security, the admin surface, API standards and governance, identifiers, and the observability that makes production legible. This is where the company's constraints collide. Security requires strong customer authentication, mTLS, and session controls. Product teams need to ship weekly. Auditors and cyber insurers need access controls and evidence. Engineering needs deployment hygiene that does not silently drift. Today these get resolved case by case, in meetings, at the cost of speed. If we do not solve this well, every product team pays a tax in ambiguity, and one bad gateway or auth change becomes an outage on the money path. Key Responsibilities Run the Application Platform pod of roughly 8 to 15 engineers and QA, with a Tech Lead reporting to you. You own the roadmap, the standards, and the on-call posture. You create the conditions in which the team can deliver them. Own the resilience of our systems. Design the failover and prove it with regular drills. Own compliant infrastructure: build the controls for DORA, PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001 and GDPR into the platform itself (IaC policy, least-privilege and just-in-time access, change management, audit logging, data residency). Own the delivery path: CI/CD, environments, artefact and secrets management, progressive rollout and rollback. Our peers should be able to ship when they need to, without filing a ticket. Own observability and support incident response: SLOs for tier-1 services, alerting, fast DevOps escalation support for the on-call team, and blameless post-mortems. Stay close to the work.
