CSQ128R11 The Engagement Manager is responsible for helping customers accelerate value through adoption of the Databricks platform, working with them to Strategically solve, build and sell Programs delivered by our Forward Deployed Engineering Team. As an Engagement Manager, you will ensure that our customers are making the most value of our products and services by positioning our FDE and training engagements. This role is a strategic and cross-functional position that will partner closely with Sales, Field Engineering, Partners, Support and Product Teams on campaigns, programs and content to position and sell engagements that solve our Customers most complex business problems. You will report to the Director, Forward Deployed Engineering. About the role We're building a Forward Deployed Engineering team to close the gap between the value our enterprise customers expect from Cursor and the value they're actually getting. FDEs don't advise, they embed directly with customer engineering teams, build production-grade Cursor workflows, and transfer the habits and culture that compound long after the engagement ends. The measure of success is what's different at day 30, not what got shipped. We're looking for a Regional Director, Forward Deployed Engineering to lead and help scale this team. You'll manage a growing team of FDEs working across our most strategic enterprise accounts, own what makes a world-class FDE engagement, and stay close enough to the work to escalate, coach, and course-correct in real time. We embed deeply with customers to solve high-leverage problems and act as the delivery engine for our most complex large-scale engagements. We operate at the intersection of deployment and development – working closely with OpenAI Research, Product and Partnerships. About the Role This is a founding role. As Singapore’s first Deployment Lead (DL), you will define how OpenAI delivers complex systems to customers. You will own how they are built, shipped, and adopted. You’ll translate business outcomes into a technical plan, run day-to-day execution across FDEs, Researchers, and Customer Engineers, and partner with customer teams to ensure delivery supports their goals. You will own delivery end-to-end: embedding with customers to map workflows and success criteria, ensuring components ship on time, and leading readiness and change management for adoption. You’ll track progress, manage dependencies, make sequencing decisions, and drive 0→1 prototypes through MVP and scale. You will also share field insights with Product and Research to guide roadmap and priorities. Success will be measured first and foremost by impact - deployments that deliver measurable value against customer goals, drive adoption, and become critical to their workflows. Additional measures of success include delivery reliability (milestones hit, low reopen/churn), operating leverage (patterns reused across deployments), judgment under pressure, and product impact (field signal that shifts roadmaps/architectures).
