We're hiring a People Systems and Automation Manager to own how our People processes actually run, and to automate them. Cohere is scaling fast. Our processes were built for a much smaller company and too many of them still depend on someone remembering to do something. That does not hold at the size we're heading toward. A useful lens; this role sees us scale through systems and leverage, not human effort. This is a hands-on building role. You will redesign processes, build the workflows that execute them across Rippling, Slack, Notion and the rest of our stack, and own offboarding and our employee support model outright. You cannot automate a process well without running one, so you will do both. You will own the outcome, not just the design. You'll join a small HR Operations team during our Rippling implementation, which means greenfield opportunity and real influence over how this function works for the next few years. THE ROLE We're looking for a Finance Systems Lead to own and evolve the systems that support Baseten's finance operations, including ERP, planning tools, and the broader finance and adjacent systems stack, spanning HRIS/payroll, CPQ, and commissions, as we implement, integrate, and automate across them. As Baseten scales, so does the number of systems finance depends on and touches, from the ERP to planning to compensation and quote to cash tooling. This role exists to bring a dedicated owner to that stack, someone who can lead implementations (partnering with contractors or vendor CSMs for hands-on technical configuration where needed), keep systems integrated and clean as we grow, and find automation opportunities that save the team time. This is a highly cross-functional role. You will partner with Accounting, FP&A, People, Sales and Revenue Operations, Legal, and IT to understand how each team uses its systems, and design integrations and workflows that serve the business without creating more manual work. About the Role As a People Data Scientist focused on AI fairness and bias testing, you will help establish how OpenAI evaluates AI-assisted People systems and high-impact talent processes. You will design and conduct rigorous assessments to identify, measure, and mitigate potential bias across the lifecycle of models, agents, decision-support tools, and automated workflows. Your work will span the entire employee life-cycle, such as hiring, performance, promotion, employee development, workforce planning, etc. You will evaluate both technical systems and the broader human-AI decision processes in which they operate, examining not only model performance but also data quality, measurement validity, differential outcomes, human oversight, and unintended consequences. We’re looking for an experienced data scientist or applied researcher who can translate complex fairness questions into defensible evaluation strategies, scalable testing infrastructure, and clear recommendations for technical teams and senior leaders.
