About the Role The Infrastructure team builds and operates the foundational systems behind Perplexity’s products. At Perplexity, infrastructure sits on the critical path of every answer, supporting real-time search, retrieval, model serving, and agent workloads where latency, reliability, and rapid iteration directly shape the user experience. This role is for strong infrastructure engineers whose experience spans multiple domains and who are energized by cross-cutting problems that do not fit neatly within a single platform team. About the Role The Enterprise Trust & Governance team builds the control plane that lets the world’s largest organizations deploy Perplexity broadly and with confidence. For administrators, that makes precise, enforceable control essential: who can do what, with which data, through which agents, and within what usage limits. This team makes those controls easy to manage, reliable and consistent across every product, and transparent to the people accountable for them. This is a product and platform engineering role with end-to-end ownership, from shaping the architecture and policy models to shipping the experiences our customers’ administrators and security teams use every day. You’ll work across product and infrastructure teams to turn complex enterprise requirements into reusable primitives and intuitive controls. The scope spans identity and provisioning, fine-grained role-based access across connectors, tool actions, and models, customer-managed encryption keys, admin APIs, audit logs, and policy and usage controls. Strong governance helps enterprises move from pilots to company-wide rollouts and gives them the confidence to entrust agents with greater responsibility over time. About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Design Engineer to join our semiconductor-focused Forward Deployed Engineering team. This is a senior IC role that will begin with a strong emphasis on physical design expertise, technical judgment, advisory leverage, and customer credibility, with the expectation that the person will grow into a broader Forward Deployed Engineering role over time. In the near term, you will serve as the team’s physical design SME across semiconductor deployments: helping FDEs, Product, and Research understand backend implementation workflows, pressure-test AI-assisted solution ideas against real physical design constraints, and raise the quality of our customer-facing technical work.
