Get to know the team The Developer Platform team at Auth0 (an Okta company) owns the platform that developers build identity on. Increasingly they build alongside AI agents, and that raises the bar on everything underneath: interfaces have to hold up whether a person or an agent is calling them, and the systems behind them have to stay reliable and coherent as usage grows. We move fast, we own problems end to end, and we care deeply about the platform we put in front of the developers and agents who depend on it. The opportunity We're hiring a Principal Engineer (P5) to serve as the technical leader and compass for the Developer Platform team. You'll work across the breadth of the platform, tackling the highly complex, vaguely specified problems that span it and turning them into clear technical direction the team can execute against, without day-to-day oversight. Above all, you'll own how the platform is architected to scale: the distributed systems behind it, the reliability and consistency guarantees developers depend on, and the coherence that keeps it easy to build on as usage grows. You'll champion the team's technical execution, raise the engineering bar, mentor the people around you, and partner with tech leads across teams to keep the wider platform aligned. The Principal Engineer owns the design, phased delivery, and long-term technical direction of Vanta's enterprise org model — a multi-quarter initiative that cuts across the platform and establishes the foundation for how enterprise customers structure, segment, and operate inside Vanta. Whether it's a Fortune 500 CTO or a startup founder, you know how to read the room and steer it. You have handled enough OAuth token flows, SCIM failures, and multi-product integration edge cases to spot root issues fast. In this role, you will help shape how developers understand identity at scale. You serve as the top technical escalation point for our support team. You are our domain expert. Cross-Functional Bridge: Serve as the technical link between Developer Support and ISV Partnerships, working directly with strategic partners on integration design. The Auth0Lab Team We are a small team of engineers exploring new Auth0 products and features ideas. We take things from 0 to 1 and we look to shape the future of identity. Our team has had a big role shaping the identity industry: we were all early at Auth0, which shaped how devs do authentication as part of Auth0Lab we incubated Auth0 FGA which redefined how authorization is done across the industry and we also incubated Auth0 for AI agents which defined auth for AI agents We are currently focused on enabling builders and companies of any size to ship production grade AI agents, by helping them with identity and security. We believe data, and developing our own models will play a huge role in this. The role We are looking for a Principal Applied AI Scientist to take product ideas from 0 to 1 and define how we do new AI product innovation. You'll have a lot of independence: you set the technical direction for AI, and experiment fast with minimal process.
