A Day in the Life
The Process Engineer II will support the development of manufacturing processes and battery designs for New Product Development at the Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) for Cardiac Rhythmn Management (CRM) business. MECC supports the design, development, and production of power components used in implantable devices.At Medtronic, we bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we do. In-person exchanges are invaluable to our work. We are working onsite a minimum of 4 days per week as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary. This role will require less than 10% travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Work with cross-functional teams including Design, Operations, Quality, and Reliability to develop processes for batteries in a regulated industry; ensure processes and designs are compatible and in compliance with regulations
- Contribute to the innovation, development and/or optimization of new manufacturing concepts, processes and procedures for transfer to manufacturing operations; design transfer to include objectives for safety, quality, yield, cycle time, and OEE
- Breadth of work can include scouting and feasibility work, material selection, process and equipment selection, tooling/fixture and equipment installation; ensure assessment of inputs, outputs and alignment to requirements
- Plan and execute process validation: characterization, OQ/PQ, TMVs/measurement systems, statistical process control, and process release activities
- Develop manufacturing equipment by creating requirements and interfacing with suppliers during equipment design and build; familiar with FAT/SAT/IQ
- Integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet design specifications and technology target specifications
- Review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules
- Conduct statistical analysis and document results and recommendations
