Security Engineer, Infrastructure

We are seeking a highly technical Infrastructure Security Engineer to join our Public Sector Infrastructure & Security team. Our Infrastructure Security Engineers ensure the security and integrity of our platform. You will be responsible for securing large cloud environments, orchestrating and securing various compute clusters, and reviewing infrastructure as code. Your expertise in cloud security, infrastructure automation, and advanced security practices will be essential in maintaining and enhancing our security posture. You will: Secure infrastructure across large cloud hosting providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Implement and maintain robust security configurations and policies for cloud environments. Conduct regular security assessments and audits of infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement. Develop and enforce security best practices for infrastructure automation and orchestration. Collaborate with DeveloperExperience, IT, and product teams to integrate security into all stages of the infrastructure lifecycle. Review and secure infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Educate and mentor team members on infrastructure security best practices and emerging threats. Must have: At least an active Top Secret clearance. This is a requirement and candidates will not be considered who do not hold at least a Top Secret clearance. Ideally, you’d have: Proven experience as a Security Engineer with a focus on infrastructure security. Proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, Python, and/or Kubernetes. Strong understanding of modern Javascript application design. Production experience with Kubernetes backed services Hands-on experience with SAST and DAST tools and methodologies. Familiarity with terraform orchestration for infrastructure management. You can structure complex problems and diagnose root causes independently, providing actionable insights without requiring manager input. Excellent communication skills, with the

About Us: AI needs a new infrastructure layer. We're building it at Modal. Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now. Our customers include category-defining companies like Ramp , Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale. We've passed $1B in annualized run rate, up 15x from a year ago. In October 2026 we raised a $750M Series D led by Accel at a $15.75B valuation. Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g., Seaborn , Luigi ), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience. The Role: We’re looking for an Infrastructure Security Engineer to design and secure the core systems that power our platform. This role focuses on building security directly into our infrastructure—from container isolation and orchestration to identity and secrets management in a multi-tenant, cloud-native environment. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to define secure primitives and ensure our platform is resilient, scalable, and trustworthy by design. This is a hands-on, deeply technical role focused on real systems, not compliance or policy. What You'll Do: Platform & Runtime Security Design and improve isolation mechanisms for multi-tenant workloads (containers, sandboxing, execution environments) Strengthen boundaries between customers, workloads, and internal systems Identify and mitigate risks in distributed, dynamic compute environments Container & Orchestration Security Secure and

About Ramp Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books. The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving. We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome. The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same. If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it. About the Role The Product Security team helps make Ramp the most secure place for our customers to collect, manage, and put to work their business’ financial information. Our work centers in three areas: Ramp builds products with an eye for security Ramp detects and responds to threats before they cause harm Security powers Ramp’s growth Check out our Engineering Blog for more on our tech stack, mission and values! What You’ll Do Build security-focused application primitives and integrate them into our existing products Design and deploy platform-level mitigations to common security issues Lead remediation of prioritized issues across our technology stack: collaborating with other engineers to triage and fix vulnerabilities discovered internally, through penetration testing, and through our bug bounty program Partner with engineering teams to design and deploy solutions which are inherently secure Champion the use of tooling (linters, static analysis, posture assessment scanners, query inspectors, etc.) which help Ramp engineers build secure system

About the Role You'll be the architect of our endpoint security posture across the full fleet — macOS, Windows, and BYOD mobile devices. You'll build secure-by-default controls with Terraform and GitOps, harden endpoints at scale, and automate the full device lifecycle so nothing depends on a human remembering to click the right button. You'll partner with IT, SecOps, and engineering teams to sharpen our telemetry and detections, mentor other engineers, and raise the bar on what "low-friction security" actually means. Everything you ship will be auditable, measurable, and built for the long run. We're also thinking seriously about how corporate security evolves in an agentic world — where AI agents act on behalf of employees and traditional identity and endpoint assumptions break down. You'll help us shape that answer. What You’ll Do Write and ship MDM policy as code — configuration profiles, remediation scripts, and enforcement rules across macOS, Windows, and mobile — with staged rollouts and rollback from day one Build patch automation that close
