The Role Mach Industries is seeking a Senior Conceptual Design Engineer, Advanced Concepts to lead conceptual design of hypersonic and high-speed atmospheric vehicles from mission requirements through preliminary design. You will drive vehicle architecture recommendations, develop configuration baselines, perform first-order sizing, and guide multidisciplinary trades where aerodynamic heating, thermal protection, and propulsion integration fundamentally shape the design space. You will work closely with Aerodynamics and Aerothermal engineers, who own the detailed CFD and aerothermal analysis, and decide how their results reshape the concept. You will also define requirements and validation needs for conceptual sizing and MDAO models in partnership with the MDAO team. This is a new capability at Mach Industries; you will guide early technical direction and shape how the company approaches advanced concept development from first sketch through hardware. In this hands-on role, you will own mechanism development from initial concept and kinematic architecture through detailed design, prototyping, testing, and production release. You will develop moving assemblies that meet demanding requirements for performance, reliability, mass, packaging, and environmental survivability while optimizing for manufacturability, assembly, cost, and production scalability. The Role Mach is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to own structural sizing and optimization of primary and secondary structure across our next-gen aerospace platforms via 1st order hand calculations as well has finite element analysis. You will build structural finite element models to write structural margins of safety for lightweight, high-performance airframe structures including metallics, composites, bonded joints, and bolted joints. You will support design-analysis cycles working hand in hand with designers, load and dynamics, and flight sciences teams. You will drive trade studies at the vehicle, subassembly and component level balancing mass, strength, stiffness, performance, and manufacturability at scale.
