About the Role OpenAI’s compute infrastructure depends on controlled execution of significant supplier spend. As Senior Manager, Accounts Payable — Compute, you will own payment readiness and material exceptions across large-value, business-critical obligations. Complex agreements evolve through amendments to pricing, capacity, service credits, billing mechanics, legal entities, and payment schedules. You will translate approved obligations into accurate, timely payments while navigating supplier disputes, late approvals, close deadlines, and cross-system dependencies. We’re looking for a hands-on technical and operational leader who can interpret complex payment terms, reconcile financial data, diagnose system failures, and build scalable workflows. Coordinating across multiple Compute Finance and Accounting teams is a core responsibility: you will establish decision owners, align deadlines, and move interdependent work forward in parallel. You will set the compute AP operating plan and lead delivery with Procurement, Treasury, Tax, Finance Systems, and existing processing teams, with measurable improvements in controls, service, and capacity. THE WORK: As a Senior Derivative Accountant on the Ripple Treasury Managed Services team, you serve as the subject matter expert on derivative instruments and hedging relationships across a portfolio of clients. You own the full technical accounting lifecycle under both ASC 815 and IFRS 9: documentation, effectiveness testing, journal entries, and disclosures. This is a hands-on role for a technical specialist who thrives with complexity, takes ownership of client engagements end-to-end, and communicates clearly with treasury and finance stakeholders at every level. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Own end-to-end derivative accounting for interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, FX forwards, options, and commodity derivatives across multiple client portfolios. Prepare and review hedge documentation, designation memos, risk management objectives, and formal effectiveness testing under ASC 815 and IFRS 9. Execute quantitative and qualitative effectiveness assessments (regression analysis, dollar-offset, hypothetical derivative method) on both a prospective and retrospective basis. About the Role This senior leader will own key elements of Ads revenue accounting from technical assessment through operational execution. The role will guide accounting for products, pricing, contracts, incentives, credits, refunds, makegoods, international expansion, and new go-to-market motions. It will establish governance and translate approved accounting positions into launch, billing, data, close, reconciliation, and control requirements. Within Finance, the Technical Revenue team partners with Product, Strategic Partnerships, Business Development, Growth, Legal, Deal Desk, GTM, Strategic Finance, Revenue Accounting, and Finance Systems to enable scalable, audit-ready monetization. About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Revenue Recognition to lead revenue strategy and technical accounting for OpenAI’s strategic commercial deals. Reporting to the Head of Technical Revenue, you will serve as the primary revenue advisor for large, bespoke, and non-standard deals outside OpenAI’s standard product and service offerings.
