As a Senior Director you will assist in the implementation of the company’s intellectual property strategy in the cell and gene therapy space, as well as counsel clients, manage patent drafting and prosecution, and assist in patent landscape activities, review publications and support business activities as needed. The Senior Director will be an integral working partner with the company’s research and development (R&D) organization. As the Senior Director, Late-Stage Cell Therapy Process Development, you will report to the Head of Process and Analytical Development and provide strategic, technical leadership for late stage process development of a PSC-derived islet product for Type 1 diabetes. You will build and manage a high performing process development team to develop commercial ready manufacturing processes. You will play a critical role in advancing our pipeline through pivotal process development, technology transfer, process characterization, and commercial readiness, ensuring robust, scalable, and compliant manufacturing processes. You will join the Beta Islet Team at the Cambridge location to optimize 3D expansion and differentiation in stem cell (SC)-islet differentiation. As a Senior Scientist, you will execute optimization experiments critical to scaling up our differentiation process. The ideal candidate should have ample experience handling bioreactors and performing directed PSC differentiation in 3D. The ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and learn from each other will be essential to your success.
