As a Senior Sales Engineer, you’ll combine your technical aptitude, exceptional communication skills, and creative problem solving to help enterprise merchants design and implement scalable, reliable solutions on the Affirm platform. You’ll support pre-sale activities by leading technical discovery, analyzing requirements, and identifying well-architected solutions, while playing a key role in winning deals and driving the business forward. Senior Sales Engineers are part of the Merchant Engineering team and work closely with Affirm’s Sales, Engineering, and Product teams. You will work cross-functionally to develop merchant solutions, serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, identify product enhancements, and help build internal processes that scale. What You'll Do Technical Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert on Affirm’s integration solutions, demonstrating deep understanding of merchant checkout, customer journeys, and the competitive landscape. As a Senior Sales Engineer on Datadog's AI Accounts team, you'll serve as the technical lead for a small portfolio of the world's leading AI labs — accounts that today represent a meaningful share of Datadog's revenue and are growing faster than any cohort in our business. You'll own the technical relationship end to end, work shoulder-to-shoulder with customer engineering teams in production, and help define how Datadog shows up for a cohort whose buying behavior looks nothing like traditional enterprise. As a Senior Enterprise Sales Engineer, you’ll serve as a trusted technical advisor and strategic partner to both customers and Sales. You’ll lead complex technical evaluations, align solutions to business outcomes, and help shape deal strategy in high-impact opportunities. This role goes beyond delivering demos - you’ll own the evaluation experience end-to-end, influence key stakeholders, and help drive successful outcomes across enterprise accounts. What You’ll Do: Own the technical strategy across your accounts as a peer to the Account Executive - a standing weekly 1:1 with each AE you support, and a standing weekly account team call with the full ecosystem where you carry POV status, technical blockers, and the explanation behind any usage movement. Own the technical explanation behind consumption movement in your accounts. Work with the CSM and TAM to separate legitimate growth from misconfiguration, make sure legitimate growth gets quantified before renewal, and flag forward-looking usage the customer has signalled rather than explaining it backwards a month later.
