This globally-distributed team of expert engineers focuses on delivering a robust and feature-rich search experience, including contributing to improving the search experience in Lucene. This technical leader is responsible for contributing to the technical direction and vision for our search capabilities, including design and implementation of new search features, enhancements to search functionality, and resolving bugs. What is The Role The Observability Streams team at Elastic is building Elastic's unified data pipeline - the layer that connects where your data comes from to where it lands, with full control over how it's processed and routed along the way. Whether you're collecting metrics from cloud accounts, shipping logs from agents, or routing traces to different destinations, Streams is what ties it all together . The Streams Backend team is responsible for the backend services powering this pipeline, ensuring data is routed, processed, and delivered efficiently and reliably at scale. What is The Role As part of the Observability organization and inside the Streams program, the Managed Inputs team builds high-performing backend ingestion pipelines. We collect telemetry across diverse environments—including Elastic Agents, agentless setups, OpenTelemetry collectors, and cloud sources via Elastic Cloud Forwarders—then process and store this information to power seamless, intuitive user experiences within Kibana. Elastic's Streams program is the unified platform for getting data into Elasticsearch from edge collection all the way through cloud processing. We accept any type of data generated at the edge (Elastic Agent, Elastic Classic APM Agents, Beats, any OTel SDK…) and we process and route the data to several destinations. What is The Role We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Integrations Team and help us build how Elastic shows up inside the AI ecosystem. AI assistants and agentic tools are quickly becoming the place where developers start their work, and this role exists to make Elastic work in the tools and ecosystems that our users use. We want to be easy to find, easy to connect to, and easy to use. The Integrations team owns the developer-facing surfaces that connect Elastic to the broader ecosystem: language clients, CLI, MCP server, third-party integrations, and the skills that make Elastic accessible wherever developers work. You'll build and maintain these projects, engage directly with the developer community, and contribute across team and cross-functional initiatives. This is fast-moving territory.
