Security Engineering is the engineering function inside the Plaid security org that focuses on developing the industry-leading security systems and infrastructure. Security Engineering owns most of Plaid’s security-related infrastructure: secure data storage, key management systems, internal identity platform, internal authentication systems, internal permission management, and internal authorization service. We develop solutions across data encryption, key management, access control, and data loss prevention to protect sensitive consumer data. We believe in the Zero Trust security model and are always looking for ways to improve our authentication and access control platforms. About the role: You will develop security capabilities to secure Plaid infrastructure and sensitive data access. You will lead the team’s strategic planning in collaboration with the manager and other senior engineers. You will own, maintain, and build Plaid’s security infrastructure and services like IAM Gateway, Key Management System and Network Firewall. As a Principal Security Software Engineer on the Production IAM team, you will set the technical direction for how identity and access work across Roblox's production infrastructure, from the mTLS-based identity that services use to authenticate to one another, to the privileged access controls that govern how engineers reach production. The team is accountable for Roblox's machine and workload identity platform, its centralized authorization engine, its production access management platform, production PKI and certificate lifecycle, and just-in-time privileged access for engineers. As an individual contributor in Production IAM, you will define multi-year strategy, drive alignment across Roblox Platform, mentor senior and staff engineers, and personally build the hardest parts of these systems. They take on real work across enterprise systems, so people get far more done than they could before. This role defines the constructs that agents are built from: the blueprints they start from, the tools, skills, and plugins that power them against enterprise data, the runtime safety harness that keeps them in bounds, and the connections into credential management, sandbox, memory, and observability. The team designs and ships these building blocks so that agent developers across the company can stand up a new agent, wire it in, and run it for days or weeks. Security and safe execution come out of the box, not something each team has to get right on its own. Today an agent runs inside a single harness.
