Site Reliability Engineer

We believe communication belongs to everyone. We exist to democratize phone service. TextNow is evolving the way the world connects and that's because we're made up of people with curious minds who bring an optimistic, yet critical lens into the work we do. We're the largest provider of free phone service in the nation. And we're just getting started. Join us in our mission to break down barriers to communication and free the flow of conversation for people everywhere. TextNow is looking for motivated Site Reliability Engineer to own infrastructure, monitoring, logging, ci/cd, reliability and everything in between! This role is about impact at scale. You’ll shape how TextNow builds and operates its systems in an AI-first environment where intelligent tooling is embedded into everyday engineering practice. Using AI is not optional, it’s expected. From design and architecture to implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and operational analysis, you will actively leverage AI tools to increase velocity, improve code quality, and make better technical decisions. We provide a robust suite of AI-powered development tools and workflows to support you, and we expect you to continuously evolve how you use them to raise the bar for efficiency, clarity, and product excellence across the organization. What You'll Do Ensure System Reliability: Design, build, and maintain scalable, resilient, and highly available systems to support TextNow’s infrastructure and services. Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain automation using Terraform, Ansible, and other tools to enable efficient deployment, scaling, and operations of cloud-based systems (AWS preferred). Incident Response & On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation, troubleshoot issues, and drive incident resolution to minimize downtime and improve syste

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary and expanding consciousness to the stars. SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence to help humanity understand the universe. Our teams are building the full Super Intelligence stack: from our Colossus supercomputers, to Grok models, to our suite of applications, including Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, and X. We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next. ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Site Reliability Engineer focused on campus reliability, you will design what the campus watches and trusts, technically command cross-discipline SEVs, and build the guardrails that make the next incident smaller. You are the connective tissue across compute, network, storage, power, and cooling on one of the largest AI training campuses in the world. This role demands calm incident leadership, fleet-scale observability judgment, and the ability to drive reliability work across software and facility boundaries. We are looking for candidates from power plants, nuclear power plants, data centers, or people who currently work or have worked in facilities like SpaceXSI with power, compute, cooling, and related plant systems. RESPONSIBILITIES: Own monitoring architecture and signal quality across GPU and host telemetry (DCGM, Prometheus/Grafana) and facility telemetry (BMS, EPMS, DCIM, SCADA, CDU / direct liquid cooling): what we alert on, suppress, and trust. Consume NOC noise-disposition feedback to drive suppression and redesign. Treat alert noise as a design failure, not an operator failure. Provide SEV command support: technical incident leadership, bridge c

ABOUT BASETEN Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F , led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to ship AI products. THE ROLE As a Site Reliability Engineer at Baseten, you'll define and codify the gold standards of day 2 operations for our ML infrastructure platform. You'll envision and build robust systems, processes, automations, and observability tooling that keep our platform reliable at scale — and that empower the broader organization to operate confidently. You'll work closely with engineering, forward-deployed and product teams: learning from recurring failure patterns, turning tribal knowledge into automated mitigations, and raising the operational floor for the entire company. EXAMPLE INITIATIVES You'll work on projects like these as part of the SRE team: Improve Baseten SRE Practices, by instrumenting SLOs and SLIs, improving alerting and observability for all services. Building AI-assisted tooling for incident triage and response. RESPONSIBILITIES Own the reliability of Baseten's multi-cloud Kubernetes infrastructure, including incident response, post-mortems, and remediation tracking. Build and maintain observability infrastructure — metrics, logging, dashboards, and alerting — as code. Author, validate, and improve runbooks for recurring failure patterns, ensuring they're structured for low-context, safe execution. Identify high-frequency failure patterns and convert them into automated mitigations or self-healing automations. Diagnose and resolve runtime issues related to latency, memory behavior, GPU utilization, concu

Forward was founded in 2013 by four Stanford Ph.D.s, building the industry's first network digital twin: a mathematically accurate model of the production network. It's the foundation for autonomous networking, giving engineers and AI agents the ability to know the impact of every change before it touches production. That founding instinct still defines how we work. We're accurate and evidence-driven, relentless about clarity, and we'd rather be certain than comfortable, building a groundbreaking platform that transforms how teams run and secure networks across every major cloud and vendor environment. Global leaders like Goldman Sachs, PayPal, S&P Global, IBM, and Dell trust Forward, alongside fast-growing enterprises and government agencies, realizing an average of $14.2 million in annual benefits, according to IDC. Backed by top-tier investors, including A. Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Goldman Sachs, MSD Partners, Omega Venture Partners, Section 32, and Threshold Ventures, and headquartered in Santa Clara, we're most proud of our team: curious people who'd rather build what doesn't exist than accept how things have always been done. Forward is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer About the Role This is not a "keep the lights on" SRE role. As our first or early SRE hire you will be building the reliability engineering function at Forward — defining how we think about availability, observability, incident response, and operational excellence across a complex, distributed SaaS platform. You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and product to ensure our platform meets the reliability bar our enterprise customers demand. If you thrive in environments where you're handed a problem rather than a playbook this role is for you. What You'll Own Define and drive SRE practices from the ground up — SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and the frameworks the engineering org will actually use Drive the reliability and operational excellence of the Forward SaaS plat
