Software Engineer 3, Atlas Identity and Access Management

Atlas Growth is a cloud engineering group whose mission is to guide customers through their app development journey—from cluster configuration, data modeling and load testing, to running a production workload at scale. We use an in-house experiments platform which helps us validate our features quickly, releasing only the work that positively impacts our customers. Our engineers participate in cross-functional “squads” with product, design, analytics, and research focusing on a single metric (e.g. retention). Our engineering team is part of a larger Atlas Core Engineering org, building foundational elements of MongoDB’s developer data platform. Atlas Growth 2 builds customer-facing features in Atlas and sits alongside other Growth engineering teams. Recent projects include an AI Chatbot for cluster creation, a recommendation system that offers tips for better database performance, and a pricing page designed to optimize conversion rates. We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model. Role Overview Atlas Growth seeks a mid-level software engineer (Software Engineer 3). SE3s are solid contributors to projects they work on and often lead projects of their own. They act in accordance with MongoDB’s core values and leadership principles, and are actively working toward a Senior role. Candidate Profile 3+ years of software engineering experience, with fluency in TypeScript/JavaScript, and experience with a modern framework (e.g. React) Proficiency in Java, Go, C++/C, or a similar compiled language is a plus Experience writing database queries, either document-based or relational Experience writing and reviewing technical specs, and leading small projects Interest in A/B testing or product design Expectations Contribute readable and well-tested code to ongoing projects Collaborate closely with product and design partners to implement and iterate on new customer facing features Write scope and technical spec docs for new projects

MongoDB Technical Services Engineers use their exceptional problem solving and customer service skills, along with their deep technical experience, to advise customers and to solve their complex MongoDB problems. Technical Service Engineers are experts in the entire MongoDB ecosystem - database server, drivers, cloud and infrastructure. This also includes services such as Atlas (database as a service), or Cloud Manager (which helps customers with automation, backup and monitoring of their MongoDB systems). Our engineers combine their MongoDB expertise with passion, initiative, teamwork and a great sense of humor to help our customers to be successful with MongoDB. We are looking to speak to candidates who are interested in working out of our Dublin office under our in-office working model Monday to Friday for the first 3-6 months depending on ramping speed. Once considered ramped, they will transition to a permanent (Tuesday to Saturday) 9am-6pm work week (with 3 in-office days) to provide weekend coverage alongside other peers. Saturdays and Sundays are considered fully online workdays and not an on-call shift. Due to the 24/7 nature of our support organization, certain events throughout the year will require volunteering for coverage outside one’s normal work days or work hours (i.e. regional offsites, regional holidays, etc). These are typically announced weeks in advance with a sign-up system that considers equitability. Join the MongoDB Server Query Execution team, and help us build a world-class distributed open-source database. Our team plays a crucial role in the performance and efficiency of MongoDB's data processing. We are responsible for building and improving the core execution engine that powers all queries, taking a logical query plan produced by the optimizer and turning it into reality. This includes developing the physical operators for data retrieval and manipulation, improving the runtime for complex analytical and transactional workloads, and owning critical components such as our new execution engine. In addition to the core server, we support the query execution needs of other major products like Atlas Streams, Atlas Search and Vector Search, and mongosync, making our work vital to the entire MongoDB ecosystem. You will be joining a globally distributed team with a significant presence in both North America and Europe. While this role is based in the NAMER region, you will regularly collaborate closely with colleagues across different time zones.
