P-57 At Databricks, we are obsessed with enabling data teams to solve the world's toughest problems. We do this by building and running the world's best data and AI infrastructure platform, so our customers can focus on the high value challenges that are central to their own missions. Founded in 2013 by the original creators of Apache Spark, Databricks has grown from a tiny corner office in Berkeley, California to a global organization with over 1000 employees. Thousands of organizations, from small to Fortune 100, trust Databricks with their mission-critical workloads, making us one of the fastest growing SaaS companies in the world. Our engineering teams build highly technical products that fulfill real, important needs in the world. We constantly push the boundaries of data and AI technology, while simultaneously operating with the resilience, security and scale that is critical to making customers successful on our platform. We develop and operate one of the largest scale software platforms. The fleet consists of millions of virtual machines, generating terabytes of logs and processing exabytes of data per day. At our scale, we regularly observe cloud hardware, network, and operating system faults, and our software must gracefully shield our customers from any of the above. As a Data Scientist on the Data Team, you will help build a data-driven culture within Databricks by helping work on top priorities for the company. The Data team also functions as an in-house, production "customer" that dog foods Databricks and drives the future direction of the products. The impact you will have: “ Analysis at the speed of thought ”: Inform decision making by building robust data science tooling for business leaders, analysts, and other data scientists. “ Extend capabilities of Databricks ”: Work closely with Data Platform and Product Engineering teams to integrate data science tooling with existing Data team offerings and the core product “ Strategic bus

P-1930 At Databricks, we run the world's largest AI platform. We believe the next breakthroughs will come from models trained on domain-specific enterprise data, not from bigger general-purpose models alone. That's why we built AI Runtime , a serverless product that makes GPU training of any size feel simple, so companies can train their own models the way frontier labs do. Customers across industries already use it to train models on governed data, from automotive AI at Rivian to Merck's TEDDY foundation models for single-cell biology and drug discovery, all the way to agents like KARL from Databricks AI Research. It takes a lot of engineering to make that work, and we've written about it on our blog: how we keep GPUs reliable , make training fault-tolerant , and speed up fine-tuning with fused kernels and smart sequence packing. As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll work on the systems behind all of this, solving hard technical problems and shaping major parts of AI Runtime. The impact you will have: Drive major parts of AI Runtime's architecture and help shape Databricks' long-term technical direction in AI training infrastructure. Design the reliability and observability systems for a fleet that keeps growing in scale and complexity. Lead improvements to AI Runtime's developer experience, so the largest training jobs feel as simple as a first experiment. Help choose the technical bets that prepare AI Runtime for new GPU generations and workload types. Take on the hardest multi-node training problems yourself, from orchestration and GPU scheduling to data loading and checkpointing. Make training faster and cheaper by raising GPU efficiency across model architectures and hardware generations. Work with research, product, and customers to shape what we build next and lead projects across teams. Champion engineering excellence, raise the bar, and mentor the engineers around you. What we look for: 10+ years in large-scale distributed systems, with significant depth in

RDQ427R351 At Databricks, we are passionate about enabling data teams to solve the world's toughest problems — from making the next mode of transportation a reality to accelerating the development of medical breakthroughs. We do this by building and running the world's best data and AI infrastructure platform so our customers can use deep data insights to improve their business. Search plays a foundational role in this mission. Whether through keyword-based retrieval, semantic similarity via vector embeddings, or hybrid approaches that combine both, our Search technologies help customers find, discover, and understand information across massive, complex datasets. These capabilities power everything from Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI assistants, and recommendation systems to enterprise knowledge management, in-product search, and data exploration. As a Staff Engineer for Search, you’ll play a critical role in building and scaling our next-generation Search product — spanning Vector Search, Keyword Search, and Search Quality. You’ll drive the design and evolution of a highly-performant, cost-efficient, and developer-friendly Search stack that enables customers to build AI applications with accuracy, speed, and scale. Beyond hands-on contributions, you’ll help define the long-term vision, mentor senior engineers, collaborate across teams, and lead strategic efforts that expand the technical and business impact of Search at Databricks. Check out our recent blog post: Decoupled by Design: Billion-Scale AI Search The impact you will have: Drive the architecture and evolution of the Search product, delivering scalable, low-latency, and high-quality retrieval across massive multimodal datasets. RDQ427R613 About Databricks Databricks is the Data and AI company. More than 10,000 organizations worldwide rely on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform to unify and democratize data, analytics, and AI. As agents move from demos to real production work, Databricks is building the platform that lets enterprises create, govern, and collaborate with coding agents safely and at scale. Team & Product Omnigent is Databricks' platform for building, composing, governing, and sharing AI coding agents. It lets people create and coordinate agents across different model providers and execution environments - from the CLI and IDE to desktop, mobile, and managed enterprise surfaces. Users can watch agents work live, jump in to co-drive or fork a session, and package and share reusable agents. This is a rare chance to define and refine interaction patterns at enterprise scale: how people supervise fleets of agents, intervene at the right moment, understand risk, and build trust in autonomous work - starting with coding, review, and exploration workflows. The hard design problem isn't just showing what agents are doing; it's helping people know when to trust, when to step in, and how to recover when work goes off track - across a high-density desktop workspace and lightweight mobile moments. You'll design for two audiences at once: an open-source community shaping the future of agent workflows, and enterprise teams adopting agents in governed production. Role You'll be the IC design lead for how humans and fleets of agents work together on Omnigent - leading through product strategy, systems thinking, craft, and cross-functional collaboration. You're equally comfortable shipping small design changes directly in the codebase and prototyping your way through big, ambiguous problems that don't have a spec yet. You'll own the design direction across desktop and mobile, partner deeply with engineering and product, and translate the frontier of what agents can do into experience
