The Team + The Role The Pendo for Agents team builds Pendo's AI and agent product area, a large greenfield surface where much of the architecture is being defined as the team builds. This team operates at the center of a fast-moving product space where engineering decisions shape both the customer experience and the technical foundation for future scale. As Senior Manager, Engineering, you will own technical direction for Pendo for Agents end to end and be fully accountable for delivery, engineering quality, and the talent pipeline. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Staff and Principal engineers, and adjacent Engineering leaders to make high-quality architecture decisions, guide execution, and grow a team that can move quickly without over-building. This role is based in our New York City office. What this looks like day-to-day Team leadership: Lead, coach, and manage a team of approximately four engineers today, with the role growing into ownership of two teams as the product area scales. You will support onboarding, professional development, and the growth of strong individual contributors and emerging technical leaders. Architecture ownership: Own the technical direction for the Pendo for Agents architecture end to end. You will partner with Staff and Principal engineers on build-versus-buy decisions, including when to use existing frameworks and when to build in-house. Delivery execution: Guide prioritization, planning, and execution across the team while maintaining a healthy delivery cadence. You will own delivery commitments across sprint and quarterly planning cycles and hold the team accountable to outcomes. We are seeking a product leader to join our team and play a pivotal role in building Agentic AI platforms to support national-level decisions, including for some of the nation’s most important national security challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of product leadership, software engineering principles practices and deep experience with ML/AI application development, coupled with proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholder or AI-related projects within a government or highly regulated setting, emphasizing ethical AI deployment and robust risk management practices. This role requires a strategic leader adept at navigating the complexities of government GenAI projects, ensuring Scale’s public sector AI solution aligns with agency objectives and adheres to stringent security and compliance mandates. As a Staff Product Manager on Datadog's Self-Improving Products team, you will take a new product family from zero to one: a closed loop that watches how a customer's software and its users behave, ranks what is worth changing, proposes the change, proves whether it worked, and carries the result into the next cycle. Datadog already holds every piece this product needs, including behavioral data from Product Analytics and Session Replay, full-stack telemetry from APM, Log Management, Error Tracking, and Continuous Profiler, rollout control through Feature Flags and Experimentation, and a coding agent in Bits AI Dev Agent that opens verified pull requests from production signal. You will own assembling these into one product where the loop closes on its own. As a Staff Product Manager on Datadog's Observability Data Platform (ODP) , you will lead product management for a portfolio of foundational platform bets — work that changes the cost structure and capability of the platform itself, not the cost of any single feature. Among ODP’s portfolio of engineering work are efforts to bring the platform's unit cost down meaningfully each quarter, plus a slate of architectural bets aimed at order-of-magnitude cost reduction over the longer horizon. The work you'll lead reshapes how Datadog ingests, routes, and exposes telemetry value to customers — and is foundational to how every product team in Datadog's ecosystem will think about telemetry economics going forward. What You'll Do: Set product direction across foundational platform bets by defining problems and desired outcomes, partnering with engineering to determine slices of work that drive value in phases for users and the business.
