Our AI Employees take on the busy work across the employee experience, from recruiting, onboarding and benefits to IT support, invoice processing and payroll, so people can spend their time on work that needs them. Founded by former executives from Google, Coinbase, Flipkart, and Okta, our team includes engineers from premier tech companies and graduates of Stanford, MIT, UC Berkeley, CMU, and IITs. We are backed by industry leading investors including Accel, Naspers/Prosus, Creaegis, Section32, and angels like Sheryl Sandberg and Dustin Moskovitz. Headquartered in Silicon Valley and with offices in London, Bangalore and Vancouver, Ema is at the frontier of what Agentic AI can do in production. We ship real systems that run real business processes at scale. The Role The Customer Engagement Manager owns a portfolio of strategic enterprise accounts end-to-end: every engagement, every outcome, every relationship, every expansion opportunity. Think of this as the McKinsey Associate Partner model applied to enterprise AI delivery. You are the single point of accountability for your accounts. The customer calls you — not your manager — when they have a problem. You staff delivery teams, oversee solution quality, run executive readouts, measure ROI, drive adoption, rebuild trust when things break, and grow the book through proven production value. This is not a project management role. This is an account ownership role that combines delivery orchestration, outcome ownership, customer leadership, and commercial growth. What You’ll Own 1. Account Ownership Own your accounts end-to-end: every engagement, every outcome, every relationship. Everything good or bad stops with you. Be the single point of contact the customer calls for any problem — delivery, quality, adoption, escalation, or expansion. Maintain a holistic view of each account: engagement status, risk exposure, opportunity pipeline, and the customer’s strate

The Public Sector software engineers (SWEs) create the core product building blocks forward-deployed teams use to develop agentic capabilities that function across multiple domains. SWEs responsibilities include building the systems required to ingest and process federal datasets to support real-time decision-making in contested environments. We develop novel agentic enabling capabilities that includes: Create multi-layered guardrails around agents Optimize data retrieval for agents Orchestrate fleets of asynchronous agents Automatically alerts users to deviations in data Illustrating how an agent reached a decision As a Staff Software Engineer, you will orchestrate the implementation of vertical features and horizontal capabilities to include mentoring other engineers on defining requirements with stakeholders and communication tradeoffs of technical implementations on feature and capabilities until they are accepted by the stakeholders. You will: Orchestrate feature implementation across the Federal engineering team to ensure architectural consistency. Define technical strategy for agentic guardrails, explainability, and fleet orchestration. Ensure system reliability and performance across multiple security classifications and network types. Mentor engineers in the process of defining requirements with stakeholders and gathering acceptance. Communicate high-level technical trade-offs and implementation strategies to senior government stakeholders and Scale C-Suite members. Influence the long-term product strategy and technical roadmap for the Federal business unit. Consult on the architecture of AI-powered solutions for large-scale federal contracts. Ideally you will have: Full Stack Development: Proficiency in front-end, back-end development and infrastructure, including experience with modern web development frameworks, programming languages, and databases Cloud-Native Technologies: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience in

Opportunity Overview: We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Engineering department. In this role, you will direct a fast-paced, collaborative, agile team of software engineers in the design, development, and scaling of highly available AI healthcare products on the Cohere platform. You'll set the technical direction for how the platform evolves — owning architecture and design decisions that span multiple teams and outlive any single release. This is an opportunity to drive technical excellence, define customer-configurability capabilities, and establish patterns other teams build on at the intersection of healthcare interoperability and modern distributed systems. This is a remote-first role that may require travel to Boston, MA for new hire onboarding and occasional in-person team meetings and company events. What you’ll do: Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership across architecture, system design, and mentor junior engineers for building scalable SaaS products. Platform Ownership: Lead the development and enhancement of Cohere’s AI-powered applications and platforms, ensuring that it is highly configurable, and optimized for performance. Data & Retrieval Architecture: Design data and retrieval architectures that give AI agents the right context, across diverse healthcare sources. Hands-On Engineering: Design, review, and own high-quality production code — actively contributing alongside the team, leading releases, production deployments, reducing developer development friction and on-call support. NFR, Security & Compliance: Drive technical strategy to ensure the team's designs consistently address non-functional requirements — observability, instrumentation, performance, and operational readiness that incorporate security and privacy regulations Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with ML/DS teams, product teams, and architects to understand requirements and ensure systems meet business needs.
