Technical Program Manager, Hardware Systems

About the Team OpenAI’s Infrastructure organization builds the systems that power frontier AI workloads at global scale. As compute demand accelerates, our ability to rapidly convert infrastructure investments into usable production capacity has become mission critical. The CPU / Storage / PoP / WAN team is responsible for the end-to-end infrastructure layers required to bring compute online: server and cluster activation, storage platforms, Points of Presence (PoPs), backbone connectivity, and global network expansion. We operate across first-party facilities, colocation environments, and strategic cloud partners to ensure OpenAI can scale reliably and quickly. About the Role We are seeking a highly technical Program Manager to lead execution across CPU, Storage, PoP, and WAN infrastructure programs that directly unlock OpenAI’s next generation compute capacity. In this role, you will own complex cross-functional programs spanning compute cluster activation, storage deployment, PoP bring-up, and backbone expansion. You will coordinate hardware readiness, site readiness, network pathing, storage availability, vendor execution, and engineering dependencies required to turn contracted infrastructure into live training and inference capacity. This role requires strong technical fluency across hardware systems, network infrastructure, storage architecture, and deployment execution. You should be comfortable operating from rack-level implementation details through executive-level capacity planning discussions. This role is based in San Francisco, CA, with travel as needed. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end execution of CPU / GPU cluster activation programs across OpenAI’s global infrastructure footprint Drive readiness to convert contracted compute capacity into schedulable production clusters Own deployment programs for new PoPs, backbone nodes, WAN expansion, and interconnection initiatives Build integrated schedules spanning procurement, logistics, installation, st

Zoox is building a full-stack autonomous mobility solution from the ground up. The System Behavior Analysis team is the front line for triage of driving events and software issues from our vehicle fleet and large-scale simulation, turning that data into engineering signal. As the Technical Program Manager for System Behavior Analysis, you will sit in our Platform SW Integration organization and treat triage as a systems and data problem. Triage sits in the middle of a larger loop, from the fleet and simulation through engineering fixes to validation and release. You will partner with software development, software integration, QA, safety, product, vehicle operations and the Program Management Office. In this role, you will: Drive triage accuracy and routing. Run the triage reviews that get defects, high-severity live-service issues and safety-critical events accurately classified and routed to the downstream teams that act on them. Measure and improve triage health. Track throughput, misclassification, latency, backlog aging, automation coverage and regulatory-reportable issues, and use them to flag risks early and give leadership decision-ready updates. Program-manage triage tooling and automation. Bring requirements to the dedicated tools and automation team, help sequence what gets automated, and track delivery, adoption and the capacity it frees. Manage intake and escalation. Maintain the intake paths, escalation criteria and shared boards partner teams rely on. Plan commitments and capacity. Turn milestones into quarterly triage commitments and forecast demand across onshore, offshore and vendor teams Qualifications Systems-Oriented Background: 3+ years in technical program management or engineering operations, with a systems mindset: you see a program and its hardware-software systems as connected parts, and trace

About the Team OpenAI's Industrial Compute organization is building and operating the infrastructure foundation for the next generation of AI. Infrastructure Operations works across facilities, hardware, network operations, incident management, data center engineering, delivery teams, and external partners to bring capacity online safely, understand its operational state, and improve it over time. As OpenAI's data center portfolio grows across first-party and partner-delivered capacity, the organization needs clear goals, trusted data, repeatable processes, and systems that make ownership, risk, readiness, and performance visible. This role will help build the operating mechanisms that allow Infrastructure Operations to scale with rigor. About the Role We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to own the systems, data, reporting, governance, and program-management backbone for Infrastructure Operations. Reporting to the Delivery & Operations Lead, you will translate strategy into executable goals and operating cadences, turn operational needs into software and data solutions, and create the mechanisms that keep a rapidly evolving organization aligned and accountable. This role will also own the current 1P+3P delivery-tracking layer within Operations: milestones, delivery timelines, quantity forecasts, risks, decisions, and executive reporting. You will partner closely with 1P Delivery Program Management, Compute TPMs, Data Center Engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations leaders to ensure that delivery information becomes complete, usable input for readiness, handover, and ongoing operations. You will own program health and the operating system around it: the goals, data definitions, workflows, reporting, decision paths, and follow-through that help functional DRIs execute. The ideal candidate is comfortable in ambiguity, technically fluent enough to implement real systems, and relentless about converting scattered information into durable mechan

About the Team The Industrial Compute team is responsible for building the physical infrastructure that powers OpenAI’s largest-scale AI systems. We design, deploy, and operate next-generation compute infrastructure across a rapidly expanding global footprint, combining OpenAI-owned infrastructure with strategic cloud and infrastructure partners to support frontier AI workloads. As our infrastructure footprint grows, operational excellence across third-party providers becomes increasingly critical. Our team ensures external infrastructure partners consistently deliver the reliability, performance, and operational maturity required to support OpenAI’s rapidly expanding compute environment. About the Role We are seeking a Hardware Technical Program Manager, Infrastructure Partner Operations to lead operational delivery across OpenAI’s third-party infrastructure partners, including major cloud service providers and strategic compute vendors. In this role, you will serve as the primary operational program manager for external infrastructure partners, driving accountability for service delivery, operational readiness, incident management, performance reporting, and continuous operational improvement. You will work closely with partner engineering and operations teams while coordinating internally across Hardware Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, Capacity Planning, Networking, Supply Chain, Deployment, Reliability Engineering, and executive leadership. Success in this role requires someone who understands how hyperscale infrastructure organizations operate, can establish strong operational governance with external partners, and is comfortable driving complex technical programs without direct ownership of the underlying infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Own operational engagement with third-party infrastructure providers, ensuring consistent execution against operational commitments, service-level agreements (SLAs), and performance expectations. Develop operationa

Zoox is developing a full-stack autonomous mobility solution for our cities. As a Technical Program Manager in EE Systems, you will own the electrical and electrical-distribution program scope on vehicle programs that Zoox executes jointly with external engineering partners. You will own the RASIC, the change flow, the milestone plan, and the weekly truth about where EE stands. The harness technical lead owns the engineering content; you own the program. In this role, you will: Serve as the central EE coordination function for your program — the single Zoox point of contact for all electrical scope and the counterpart to the partner's E/E lead — and own the EE portion of the engineering RASIC from concept through industrialization Drive low-voltage harness and EDS impact assessment and change management, running gap analysis of partner-proposed designs against Zoox EDS design best practices and lessons learned, and converting findings into tracked change requests Manage cross-company engineering data exchange and release control, including CAD toolchain and version incompatibility between Zoox and its partners; ensure Zoox retains configuration and release control of LV harness drawings, and work with Sourcing and Supplier Quality on build-to-print readiness Coordinate the full set of EE work packages — antenna integration, vehicle-level EMC verification, E/E integration and regression testing, thermal validation, and electrical mounting hardware — pulling in the responsible Zoox module owners and holding them to dates Build and hold the EE milestone plan against program gates and material required dates, surfacing risk early with a recovery option rather than a red status; publish a concise weekly program update and prepare EE content for executive and gate reviews Qualifications: BS or MS in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience</
