Role overview

Job description

Treasury is leading a Finance wide capability for an AI-augmented operational model and process for variance analysis; this role will support the execution of that effort, providing key domain expertise and execution support.

Day-to-day, the candidate will act as a key business contributor for the OM / AI capability build, supporting the delivery of the variance analysis process — including a prototype to be leveraged across Finance. This includes assisting in the definition of use case requirements, validating outputs, and helping to ensure the resulting tooling is fit for finance-wide reuse. The output of this work will contribute to establishing the reusable OM / AI pattern that subsequent Finance teams will adopt.

This role requires an understanding of OM and AI strategic direction of the Finance function, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in Liquidity Operations process. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required in order to work effectively with internal stakeholders across various levels. Impact reflects professional influence on the business and close interaction with other functions and businesses.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of AI tooling to help establish a Finance wide common capability for variance analysis, including daily and periodic identification, root-cause analysis, and escalation of material variances across product, entity, and currency dimensions.

• Collaborate within Treasury, across Finance, and with Technology to identify consistent attribution of variance drivers — including intra-day movements, and operational breaks.

• Assist in preparing and presenting executive-level commentary and analysis to senior management on progress.

• Contribute to the operating model process including supporting the documentation of escalation paths and process flows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience within financial services; specifically, within Liquidity Management, Operations and Reporting.

• Prior involvement in data, technology, or operational model transformation programs — ideally including AI, automation, or analytics-led change.

• Strong collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to facilitate discussions and help build consensus.

• Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to rapidly assimilate complex information across.

• Proven ability to work effectively across businesses and functions to deliver results.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required / MBA degree preferred.

End date: 12/31/28 - This role is a project based role and is expected to last 24 months.

Lithic is the modern card issuing and processing platform empowering ambitious financial companies to build the future of payments. Our infrastructure powers card programs for 100+ innovative clients, from fintechs reimagining credit and digital banking to platforms transforming disbursements and spend management. Companies like Mercury, Flex, and Novo rely on Lithic's developer-friendly APIs, direct network connections, and flawless reconciliation to launch and scale card programs in weeks, not years. We're building a future where access to better financial products materially improves people's lives, free from the constraints of 30-year-old mainframes and legacy processors. We're proud to be backed by world-class investors who share that vision, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Index Ventures, Spark Capital, Stripes, and Mastercard, along with many others. We're a team of 170+ across 26 states and 7 countries, headquartered in New York City. Lithic's Treasury Operations team owns the movement of money across our card issuing infrastructure — network settlement, sponsor bank transfers, and the reconciliation that keeps it all provable. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who wants to learn the inner workings of payments and fintech infrastructure, not just observe them from a reporting layer. You'll be running a critical, time-sensitive engine every day — and at the same time, working alongside the Head of Treasury Operations to improve how that engine works as the function scales. You’ll also work cross-functionally across a wide range of teams (Finance, Treasury Engineering, Risk, Analytics, Processing, Customer Success, Bank Operations) — this role sits at the center of a lot of different workflows, not off in a silo. What You'll Do Execution (50%) Own day-to-day execution of network settlement transfers (Mastercard, Visa) and related treasury transfers across sponsor banks Operate in a time-sensitive environment where errors or d
