About the team Our team owns open-source SDKs that reflect the Stripe API in seven different programming languages. A vast majority of server-side Stripe integrations are built using our open-source SDKs. Our team also owns an in-house code generation framework, which we use to generate not just the SDKs, but the code snippets in our documentation and the commands in Stripe Shell, which is an in-browser version of the Stripe CLI. We are dedicated to providing a world-class experience for developers using our SDKs. We influence how Stripe authors and releases APIs so that SDKs and documentation represent them in a user-friendly way. We want to collaborate with and help our friends in the Stripe community who build and maintain SDKs in programming languages that we don't support. What you’ll do In this role, you'll have an opportunity to shape the experience of developers using Stripe SDKs that power over 80% of the payment volume at Stripe. About the team APAC Payins TechOps is a newly formed team based in Singapore. Our charter is to improve the health and resilience of our payment acquiring volume, making it easier for Stripe to build and operate the integrations that support hundreds of billions of dollars in payments annually. Our team partners closely with payments and platform engineering teams to assess systems or processes that create high operational workloads, then develops durable solutions via code, tooling, data, and process improvements. We are responsible for the financial data quality of key systems at Stripe, ensuring that data is quarantined without impacting downstream systems while implementing the right changes upstream to prevent recurring issues. The team's work has a direct impact on Stripe's ability to expand into new markets and offer more sophisticated payment features to merchants. What you’ll do Responsibilities Scope and lead technical initiatives end-to-end: identify problems worth solving, propose the right solution approach, and deliver on that solution — not just execute on a pre-defined plan. Meeting this moment requires new ways to measure security, evaluate defenses, and distinguish genuine risk reduction from friction that slows users down. About the Role We are looking for a senior data scientist to help define what effective cybersecurity looks like in the age of AI agents. You will work across OpenAI’s Security organization and cybersecurity product teams to measure emerging risks, improve internal security controls, and shape AI-powered security products. The problems are foundational: How do we know whether an agent’s security controls are effective? Which safeguards meaningfully reduce risk, and which create unnecessary friction?
