Baseten
📍 San Francisco• Full-time
1mo ago

ABOUT BASETEN Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F , led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to to ship AI products. THE ROLE Container runtimes were designed for general-purpose software workloads. AI inference is not a general-purpose workload. Running large models at production scale exposes cracks in every layer of the container stack: runtimes unaware of GPU memory constraints, images that take minutes to pull when a model needs to scale to thousands of replicas, and isolation mechanisms that weren't designed for the multi-tenant serving environments that production AI requires. The tools the industry has relied on for a decade weren't built for this, and patching around those limitations at higher layers only goes so far. Baseten owns the entire pipeline, from the moment a developer pushes a model to the moment a request gets a response. That vertical ownership means we can fix these problems at the root. The Runtime Fabrics team is doing exactly that: purpose-building the container runtime and storage layers for AI inference workloads, led by some of the world's top containerd maintainers. As Engineering Manager of the Runtime Fabrics team, you will lead this work, setting technical direction, growing a world-class team of systems engineers, and ensuring the team's output shapes not just Baseten's infrastructure but the open-source container ecosystem at large. If you've contributed to containerd, runc, or related OCI projects and are ready to lead a team solving some of the hardest problems in infrastructure today, we'd love

Modal
📍 San Francisco• Full-time
1mo ago

About Us: AI needs a new infrastructure layer. We're building it at Modal. Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now. Our customers include category-defining companies like Lovable , Ramp , Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale. We recently raised a $355M Series C at a $4.65B valuation, led by General Catalyst and Redpoint Ventures. We've crossed $300M+ ARR and grown fivefold since September. Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g., Seaborn , Luig i ), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience. The Role: Modal is the cloud platform built for AI. We're used by the world's leading AI labs, startups, and researchers to run compute-intensive workloads: training runs, inference, sandboxed code execution, and more. We're hiring a Community Manager in SF to make Modal a fixture in the AI developer community. You'll bring developers together through meetups, hackathons, and events of our own, and build the kind of community that keeps showing up. You know how to rinse and repeat the process, but always with a creative bend. In this role, you will: Co-host developer meetups with partners in our ecosystem. Find the right speakers, build the relationships, and run the events together. Prior examples: High Performance Inference for Open LLMs , Voice AI Builders Night , RL with Modal and Prime Intellect , FDE Happy Hour . Sponsor hackathons that attract highly technical enginee

About the Role We're looking for Engineering Managers to lead engineering teams across Supabase. Teams range from developer-facing surfaces, core backend services, Platform, EngOps, and Databases. This is a single pipeline for engineering management. As we get to know your background, we'll match you to the team where your experience and interests overlap most strongly. The Engineering Manager is a people, delivery, and technical role. Although we don’t expect managers to contribute to code directly, we do expect you to participate in design discussions and to be involved in setting the bar for engineering quality and best practices. This is a new role at Supabase. We've historically optimised for technical excellence on every axis, including leadership. Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers to help them ship countless products that people love. More than 7 million developers trust us with their data, and we are custodians of every byte of it. Security is foundational to that trust, and as we move deeper into AI-native development, regulated industries, and enterprise, it shapes whether a developer chooses us on day one and whether a regulated company can build their most sensitive workloads on Supabase. About the role We're looking for a PM who can balance the constant tension between security and developer experience at platform scale. Every control you add is friction a developer has to absorb, and every default you loosen is a door an attacker could walk through. Finding the right balance between protecting customers and keeping them fast is the work of this role. You'll partner with Security Engineering, Compliance, and the platform teams that own auth, networking, and audit. This is a remote position and we're open to considering candidates located across EMEA and AMER time zones. In This Role You Will Set the security agenda for the platform. Lead Supabase's platform security roadmap end-to-end, from the defaults that protect a developer prototyping their first project to the advanced controls a Fortune 500 CISO needs before approving us. Hold the line between security and developer experience. Every security feature trades protection against friction. A control that's too strict pushes developers off the platform; one that's too easy to bypass doesn't protect anyone. Lead our security strategy for AI agents. Agents now read, write, and deploy on behalf of developers and companies, often at machine speed. You'll lead how Supabase authenticates, scopes, and audits agent activity so customers can give them real capability while staying in control of their data. Own our security product surface. Drive the roadmap for the security tooling customers use to operate safely
