A World-Changing Company Palantir builds the world’s leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more. The Role As a technical writer and editor, you’ll play a key role in helping our customers succeed by creating, maintaining, and improving documentation that supports users of Palantir’s products. At Palantir, we view documentation as a key part of product development. Working at the intersection of users and Palantir’s products, you will develop an understanding of user needs and help them get the most out of our software. You’ll be a thought partner with our product development teams, combining your communication skills with empathy for users and product knowledge. Your work will primarily be on written documentation, but may also include interactive tutorials, recorded demonstrations, or other communication channels. Teams and individuals at Palantir operate with a high degree of autonomy and independence. In this role, you’ll be responsible for setting priorities for your work, deciding where to allocate your time based on an assessment of stakeholder and organizational needs. You should be comfortable thinking about the “big picture” narrative and structure of our documentation, as well as diving into the details. On any given day, you might find yourself editing a guide drafted by a developer, writing a new tutorial for a critical workflow, or identifying an area that needs improvement and partnering with a team to make the fix. You will also gain exposure to the technical infrastructure for composing and distributing platform documentation.

The Role Palantir’s software forms the operating system for the militaries of the United States and her allies, driving outcomes and enhancing capabilities across the full spectrum of operations, intelligence, and support activities. Our defense applications are the tip of that spear, powerful tools used daily by thousands of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines to perform critical work at home and abroad from the Pentagon to the front lines. The engineers who build, maintain, and extend these applications are responsible for wielding the immense technical potential of Palantir’s data modeling and AI platforms to create exquisite domain-specific workflows and interfaces that modernize, extend, and revolutionize the capabilities of the warfighter. This is a front-end engineering role focused on marrying Palantir’s Foundry and AIP platform technologies, application specific backend services, and modern web technologies with domain expertise. These teams are nimble and select the right tool for the task in front of them rather than adhering to a rigidly defined tech stack, but the most common setups are React for standard DOM rendering, Maplibre and/or Three js for geospatial and 3D rendering, Redux (in various flavors) for state management, Conjure for API management, and OSDK for interaction with the foundry platform. A rich ecosystem of in-house libraries and toolchains sit on top of that foundation to provide cross-app messaging, live data streaming, robust classification based access control, and a host of other specialized functions. Defense applications developers both consume and produce these re-usable tools as part of their core engineering role. Core R

By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more. The Role Palantir builds applications that help customers organize, understand, and make decisions based on their data. Because these applications serve different roles within an organization's workflow, users frequently have multiple applications open at once, and expect them to work together seamlessly. While backend services handle much of this coordination, delivering a truly fast and responsive experience requires applications to also directly interact with each other through client-side frameworks running in the browser. Building these frameworks is uniquely challenging: every Palantir application plays a distinct role and has its own set of first-class UX concepts, yet the frameworks need to integrate cleanly into all of them. Success requires both strong API design skills and a keen eye for user experience. The frontend frameworks our team builds serve a variety of functions across Palantir's application ecosystem. Some frameworks integrate deeply with the Palantir Ontology—a foundational layer that provides a schema for defining objects and relationships between them. These frameworks enable real-time data synchronization across applications: for example, when a user selects an Ontology object on a map, data plots in a different application instantly update to show that object's properties. Other frameworks operate independently of the Ontology: for example, one framework allows applications to define custom behaviors that can be invoked by other applications or even by AI agents, giving them the flexibility to expose arbitrary functionality across the platform. By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more. The Role The Privacy and Civil Liberties (PCL) Engineering team is a interdisciplinary team of software engineers, forward-deployed engineers, designers, lawyers, and policy experts. The first of its kind in the tech industry, Palantir’s PCL team was formed 15+ years ago as a rejection of the prevailing view that privacy protections must be sacrificed to national security interest. Today, the mission of the PCL team goes far beyond civil liberties protections, and our work challenges other false tradeoffs between operational effectiveness and the defining values of our society: Effective military operations should not be at odds with protecting civilians and upholding the Law of Armed Conflict. Deploying AI with scale and speed should never compromise safety, reliability, and governance. The PCL team builds software and forward deploys to ensure that our customers can pursue their hardest operational challenges while keeping ethical imperatives in plain sight. You can read more about the team on the Palantir blog here. As a PCL Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing full-stack software products for privacy, data protection, AI governance, and accountability in Palantir’s software platforms. You may build security and governance primitives in our platform, applications for auditors, user-facing workflows for AI governance, internal tools for data protection, or something new all-together to help our customers address their next set of challenges. In every case, the software that you build will directly help our customers both carry out their missions more effectively and better meet their legal and ethical obligations.
