By combining powerful analytics with AI that knows your business, Mixpanel helps teams see what’s working, diagnose what’s not, and decide what to build next. Learn more at mixpanel.com . About the role At Mixpanel, we believe design excellence is a competitive moat. In a world where AI makes it easier than ever to ship, we believe the quality of the experience — how it feels, how it builds trust, how it handles complexity with grace — that separates good products from great ones. As a Staff Design Engineer at Mixpanel, you'll sit within the design organization and lead the transformation of our design system from a component library into something far more important: the infrastructure that powers how we design, build, and ship in an AI-native world. You'll encode our craft, standards, and vision directly into the systems, tools, and workflows that every designer, engineer, and AI agent in our org builds on. This isn't a maintenance or systems stewardship role. It's a transformative one. You'll work at the frontier of what design and engineering collaboration looks like when AI writes most of the code, agents prototype from intent, and the design system is less a library and more a living foundation for everything we ship. You'll be the designer who ships production code. The engineer who holds an uncompromising craft bar. The person who sees the future of how Mixpanel will look and behave in an AI-native world, and builds the infrastructure to make it real. What you'll do Build the infrastructure for an AI-native design practice Translate Mixpanel's design standards, principles, and taste into systems that live in the code. Build a token system, component library, documentation, and guidelines that AI agents, AI coding tools, and AI prototyping workflows can reliably build on. Evolve ou
Who We Are Nuro believes self-driving vehicles are the most immediate and profound opportunity for AI to drive positive change in the physical world. Safer streets, more time for what matters, and easier access to the world around us, that’s why we’re building a universal autonomy platform: self-driving for all roads and all rides. Founded in 2016, Nuro is a physical AI company developing Level 4 autonomous driving technology for a wide range of vehicles, use cases, and markets. Powered by the Nuro Driver™, our universal autonomy platform enables the global mobility ecosystem to deploy autonomy at scale, from robotaxis and logistics fleets to personal vehicles. With years of real-world deployment experience and a flexible, partner-led business model, Nuro is working toward a future where millions of autonomous vehicles powered by our technology help make everyday life safer, easier, and more connected. Nuro has raised over $2B in capital from Uber, NVIDIA, Google, Softbank, Fidelity, T. Rowe Price, and other leading investors. About the Role We’re a team of high-output generalists where ML and systems engineering converge. This is not a "run the models" role. We reason from first principles about why a perception model learns what it learns, close the gaps that cap its performance, and raise the bar on the data and evaluation loop that drives autonomy. Your work will directly impact how autonomous systems understand rare scenarios, adapt to global geographies, and scale safely. About the work You’ll solve autonomy’s hardest data challenges through applied ML and systems rigor: Diagnose why perception models underperform on the long tail, and turn that into targeted data and training priorities. Design eval metrics and regression detection that tell us whether a model is ready. Curate and clean training data for segmentation and occupancy; hunt the data problems that silently cap performance. Run controlled ML experiments and ablations; cleanly sepa
The Team + The Role Our Emerging Team is focused on building AI Products for our product experience (PX) platform. We build from the ground up to explore, prototype, and ship AI-native experiences that change how software teams understand and serve their users. This is not an AI layer added to existing product; it is a deliberate bet on what product intelligence looks like next. The team operates with high autonomy, moves quickly, and builds products without clear precedents. As a Staff Software Engineer (AI), you will sit at the intersection of deep technical capability and strong product judgment. You will design and build production-grade AI systems, including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and LLM-powered features, while making clear tradeoffs across prompting, fine-tuning, architecture, evaluation, and deployment. You will also partner closely with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to frame the right problems and communicate technical decisions clearly. This role is based in our New York office. What this looks like day-to-day Applied AI systems: Design and build AI-native systems, including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and LLM-powered product features. You will take ideas from prototype through production and ensure they can support real users. Model strategy: Make principled decisions about when to prompt, when to fine-tune, and when to use a different technical approach entirely. You will explain those tradeoffs clearly to engineers and non-engineers. Evaluation and guardrails: Instrument and evaluate model outputs rigorously by defining evaluation frameworks and identifying hallucinations early. You will implement guardrails that hold up under real-world usage and load. Productionize AI ownership: Own model deployment, monitoring, latency optimization, cost management, and reliability at scale. You will ensure AI systems are observable, performant, and production-ready. Full-stack delivery: Contribute across the stack when needed to get
