Discord has a highly engaged community of millions of daily active users who use the platform for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does: play video games. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming, and we are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to hang out before, during, and after playing games. Discord's Legal team is growing its Security GRC function, and we're looking for a Security Analyst to help run and scale it. You'll own the day-to-day engine of the program: the questionnaires, risk tracking, analyses, tooling, and documentation that keep compliance moving. As we build, that's a mix of hands-on work today and the systems that shrink it over time, because we'd rather automate a control than babysit it. We care about the right level of compliance for Discord, our users, and our customers. You'll partner across Security, Engineering, IT, and Legal to make compliance feel friction-free, even invisible, rather than something teams have to fight. What you'll be doing Run the customer security questionnaire program end-to-end, from intake through response, and grow a reusable answer library that turns repeat questions into fast, near-self-service answers. Operate risk and control workflows: triage incoming risks, track gap closure and risk treatment through to completion, and keep the risk register accurate and current. You'll be the first point of contact for partner teams, resolving routine questions and escalating the ones that need senior judgment. Run GRC analyses that turn into decisions: how standards, procedures, and controls align to our policies and framework requirements; where the gaps are; and how mature and effective our controls actually are. Build and maintain the GRC toolchain and its automation: administer our GRC platform, ticketing, and knowledge bases, and design the integrations and workflows that collect evidence and check controls by default rather than by hand. About the Team OpenAI’s Agentic Data Science team helps shape how AI agents are built, deployed, and improved across our products. We partner with product, engineering, research, and security teams to define meaningful measures of success, understand how our systems behave in the real world, and translate evidence into better decisions. As AI agents become more capable, they can write and execute code, access sensitive systems, and complete increasingly complex tasks with greater autonomy. These capabilities create powerful opportunities to improve cybersecurity, but they also introduce risks that traditional security tools and processes were not designed to address. Meeting this moment requires new ways to measure security, evaluate defenses, and distinguish genuine risk reduction from friction that slows users down. About the Role We are looking for a senior data scientist to help define what effective cybersecurity looks like in the age of AI agents. You will work across OpenAI’s Security organization and cybersecurity product teams to measure emerging risks, improve internal security controls, and shape AI-powered security products. The problems are foundational: How do we know whether an agent’s security controls are effective? Which safeguards meaningfully reduce risk, and which create unnecessary friction? When an AI system identifies a potential vulnerability, how do we determine whether the finding is accurate, actionable, and ultimately resolved? How do we detect anomalous behavior or risky access when the systems themselves are changing rapidly? You will report into Data Science while partnering closely with Security, Cyber Product, Engineering, and Research. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can establish a new analytical discipline, operate across organizational boundaries, and turn ambiguous security challenges into measurable improvements. In This Role You Will Define how we measure AI-agent security. Establish metrics and evaluation frame
About the Team OpenAI’s mission is to ensure that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity. The Identity team builds the foundational systems that enable people, organizations, devices, and agents to securely access OpenAI products. The team works across consumer and enterprise experiences, including account structures, sign-in, authentication, recovery, privacy, permissions, administration, and agent identity. As AI systems become increasingly capable of acting on behalf of people and organizations, we are defining new models for authorization and trust across human-to-agent and agent-to-agent interactions. About the Role In this role, you’ll lead design for foundational identity experiences across OpenAI’s products. You’ll make permissions, access, risk, and administration feel clear, safe, and genuinely usable—whether someone is securing a personal account, administering access across an enterprise, signing in to another product with ChatGPT, or authorizing an agent to perform sensitive work. Your work will span established identity challenges and emerging interaction models without established design conventions. You’ll help define how users understand what an agent can access, who or what it is acting on behalf of, and when confirmation or stronger authentication should appear. Working closely with product, engineering, security, privacy, and design, you’ll translate complex policies and technical systems into coherent, trustworthy experiences. This role is based in our San Francisco HQ. We offer relocation assistance to new employees. In this role, you will: Lead the design direction for identity, account security, permissions, and administrative experiences across OpenAI’s consumer and enterprise products. Design and ship high-quality experiences spanning sign-in, authentication, account recovery, device accounts, privacy, access controls, governance, and remediation. Define mental models and interaction patterns for human-to-agent and
About the Team The CoT Monitorability team at OpenAI studies whether and when the chain-of-thought of frontier reasoning models is monitorable enough to support scalable oversight. We study how to measure monitorability , which training mechanisms affect monitorability, and speculative methods to improve monitorability. While we mostly focus on CoT monitorability at the moment, we care more generally about any form of monitorability, auditing methods, and improving alignment. We were the first to show that chain-of-thought monitoring can be a practical additional safety mechanism, and today our monitoring systems are actively used on OpenAI’s largest RL training runs to detect misbehavior. The issues we surface are then used to help improve our reward functions, environments, etc (without directly training against a CoT monitor). Our work sits in Alignment and intersects with model training, alignment evaluations, monitoring, and frontier-risk research. We care most about monitorability where the stakes are high, and about preserving useful oversight signals as models become more capable. About the Role We’re looking for a researcher with strong empirical ML expertise and a deep interest in model behavior, alignment, or interpretability. Direct chain-of-thought interpretability experience is welcome but not required; strong candidates may come from broader interpretability, alignment, model training, or investigative model-behavior work. As a researcher on the Alignment team, you will design and run experiments that improve our understanding of model monitorability. You will investigate how training interventions across the model-development pipeline influence whether reasoning remains legible, build evaluations that make those questions measurable, and help translate findings into practical oversight and training recommendations. You may also help develop new monitoring models or methods and apply them to OpenAI’s largest training runs. This role is especially well
About the Team Security is at the foundation of OpenAI’s mission to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity. The Security team protects OpenAI’s technology, people, and products. We are technical in what we build but are operational in how we do our work, and are committed to supporting all products and research at OpenAI. Our Security team tenets include: prioritizing for impact, enabling researchers, preparing for future transformative technologies, and engaging a robust security culture. About the Role OpenAI is seeking to build an investigative capability for Secure Manufacturing & Stealth programs. This role is intended to build and run investigations across that specialized environment. In this role, you will: Lead complex SMS investigations to proactively identify and mitigate risks to unreleased products, prototypes, confidential hardware, secure manufacturing programs, and launch-readiness efforts. Investigate unauthorized disclosure, suspected leaks, insider risk, supplier compromise, vendor misconduct, theft, diversion, tampering, counterfeiting, surveillance, adversarial collection, and suspicious activity involving sensitive programs. Connect digital evidence, physical access activity, supply chain records, manufacturing data, vendor behavior, employee activity, collaboration metadata, procurement records, shipping data, and OSINT into clear findings and risk-reduction actions. Conduct proactive threat hunting to surface early indicators of compromise, collection, leakage, or insider activity affecting sensitive programs. Develop investigative playbooks, evidence-handling standards,
