Senior Software Engineer - Analytics Compute Platform Team About the Role & Team Every chart, insight, and experiment result a customer sees in Amplitude passes through the compute layer that this team owns. Our team sits between Amplitude's front-end analytics products/ rest APIs/ MCPs and Nova, our proprietary analytics database, and owns the compute API that translates a user's question into a fast, correct answer. Our mandate: enable a highly performant, reliable, and flexible way to compute insights. Those three goals are often in tension the more flexible we make the system, the harder it is to keep it fast and simple, and a lot of the interesting engineering work on this team lives in that tradeoff. Day to day, you'll work closely with engineers on data management, marketing analytics, Session Replay, Experiment, CDP, Query, and various product teams, since they're all consumers of what we build. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will Design and build core parts of the query/compute engine that powers analysis across Amplitude's product suite Evolve the compute API and semantic layer that other engineering teams build features on top of, so that it can support a more generic table Help unify and evolve our core data model, including how non-event data (profile properties, lookup tables, etc.) is represented alongside event data Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of query planning and execution on the Amplitude query engine Partner with teams across Session Replay, Experiment, CDP, Query, and frontend to understand their needs and shape the compute layer around them Take ownership of projects end-to-end, from design through rollout You'll be a great addition to the team if you have Strong backend or distributed-systems engineering experience, ideally touching OLAP databases, query engines, or data infrastructure Experience with SQL, query planning/execution, or building APIs that many other engineering teams depend on Comfort reasoning

About The Role & Team Amplitude is the leading AI analytics platform, and our ability to deliver measurable customer outcomes quickly is a key part of how we keep that lead. The Customer FDE (Forward Deployed Engineering) team sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success — owning the technical delivery that takes validated products from co-development and implements them across enterprise customers. As a Customer Forward Deployed Engineer, you will own end-to-end technical delivery for enterprise customer implementations, from sales engagement through post-deployment validation. You'll work directly in Amplitude's product codebase, submitting PRs, shipping customer-specific solutions, and building reusable patterns that make every successive engagement faster. This is not a traditional support or solutions role. Customer FDEs are engineers first who partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to turn customer needs into working software. The right person thrives in ambiguity, learns new domains quickly, and cares as much about the customer's outcome as about technical elegance. As a Customer Forward Deployed Engineer, you will: Own enterprise implementations end-to-end — engage during sales to map customer needs to capabilities, scope implementation plans, and deliver through post-deployment validation with measurable customer outcomes Work directly in the product codebase — submit PRs, test, and ship customer-specific solutions without requiring constant oversight; over time, the gap between "what we built" and "what the customer needs" keeps shrinking because you're the one closing it Ship early, ship often, and gather feedback — treat every customer interaction as an opportunity to validate your approach and course-correct quickly Build reusable patterns and playbooks — when you solve something once, make sure the next person doesn't have to solve it again; identify and document implementation patterns that

What we're building Mutiny is the self-improving AI infrastructure for GTM teams to execute faster and close more revenue. Our ambition is to do for revenue velocity what Cursor and Claude Code did for engineering velocity. With Mutiny, everyone in sales and marketing gets a bench of GTM athletes that handle any work across their revenue motion and learn from what's actually moved their deals. In April we re-launched the product as an agent-first platform. Anthropic showcased us as a leader in AI GTM. MRR is growing more than 70% month-over-month, with customers like Uber, Rippling, and Snowflake. We're backed by Sequoia, YC, and Insight, and we're building a generational company. The opportunity Most engineers spend their career making predictable systems faster. You'll spend yours making non-deterministic ones trustworthy. As a senior engineer on our AI product team, you'll architect the Campaign Builder and Agent experiences marketers and sellers open every day to go from idea to personalized assets in minutes. You'll partner directly with product, design, and the founders to define what an agent-first GTM platform should feel like, and your calls on architecture, evals, and guardrails compound across thousands of customer accounts. This role is in person in New York City, five days a week, and we ship weekly. What you'll own The core agent surfaces. Architect and ship the Campaign Builder and Agent experiences end-to-end. Frontend, backend, prompts, evals, the whole stack. Reliability on top of LLMs. Make non-deterministic models feel deterministic at the surface. Build the retries, fallbacks, and orchestration so the customer never sees the failure mode. Evals and guardrails. Define how we measure quality, catch regressions, and keep brand and tone consistent across thousands of customer accounts. Speed and feel. At Vanta, our mission is to help businesses earn and prove trust. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it. Vanta's Corporate Engineering team is the infrastructure layer that keeps 1,500+ people connected, secure, and moving fast. AI is now central to how that happens, and this role leads the team that owns the backbone underneath it. Corporate Engineering owns the shared AI platform for Vanta's internal systems: identity and access for AI tools, cost visibility and controls, sanctioned tooling and guardrails, and the enablement that helps people use those tools well. We do not own product AI, which stays with Engineering, and we do not replace the AI work happening inside individual departments. We build the engineering layer that makes all of it safer, cheaper, and better supported. The company has moved fast. AI assistant use is widespread across every function, MCP infrastructure is live and self-serve company-wide, internal apps ship on a hosted platform, and AI spend has grown to the point where attribution and guardrails genuinely matter. What does not exist yet is a single owner for that platform layer. That is this role. As Sr. Manager, AI Engineering, you will lead a small, senior team, write the charter for what Corporate Engineering owns versus enables, and build the platform that lets the rest of Vanta adopt AI quickly without accumulating cost, risk, or duplication. What you’ll do as a Senior Manager, AI Corporate Engineering at Vanta: Lead, coach, and grow a senior team spanning platform engineering and technical program management. Set clear direction, hold a high bar, and give the team explicit permission to push back with data. Own the AI access layer end to end: identity and authentication for AI tools, connector
