About the team Our finance team is responsible for shaping our understanding of how Stripe is performing as a business, as well as what our best opportunities are for continued growth. We’re looking for an experienced Entity Controller to join our International Accounting team. As a key part of our controllership team in Dublin, you will help us build our technical accounting and financial reporting processes, work with business partners, financial partners, external stakeholders and our world-class engineers. What You’ll Do Responsibilities Lead Financial Close Processes : Manage the monthly close of US GAAP books and local books, including balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, flux analysis, and reporting deliverables. Statutory Audit Process : Own the financial statement preparation, technical memos, audit support, culminating in presentations to the board of directors. Technical Expertise : Maintain fluency with US GAAP and IFRS/ FRS102, producing necessary technical accounting memos. Cross-functional Collaboration : Partner effectively with Tax, Transfer Pricing, Treasury, Corporate Accounting, and Legal teams on diverse projects. Conversion of US GAAP trial balances to local GAAP or IFRS trial balances. Ensure that US GAAP and local GAAP account balances are periodically reconciled, and GAAP differences are adequately explained. Ensure that entries in the local GAAP ERP are recorded in a timely and accurate manner. Position Overview We are seeking a highly analytical and data-driven Payment Reconciliation Specialist / Analyst to oversee our end-to-end financial reconciliation processes. In this role, you will be responsible for managing high-volume transaction datasets, tracking payment lifecycles, and ensuring absolute financial accuracy across internal systems, payment gateways, and banking partners. The ideal candidate bridges the gap between finance and technology—possessing strong core accounting fundamentals alongside advanced technical skills in SQL and Python to drive automation, eliminate manual workflows, and optimize payment processing costs. Key Responsibilities 1. Core Payment & Financial Reconciliation End-to-End Auditing: Validate transaction records across internal systems, payment gateways (PGs), banking partners, settlement files, and merchant reports. High-Volume Data Analysis: Analyze massive transaction datasets to promptly identify mismatches, pending settlements, duplicate transactions, and financial exceptions. Chargeback Management: Monitor disputed transactions, track the complete chargeback lifecycle, validate reversal entries, and ensure accurate accounting adjustments/recovery.
